Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino: "If we want to be contenders, we need to win games like these.

"It was a very competitive game, they were ready to compete and it was tough. We managed the whole game, but if you don't score it is difficult to win. We fought loads and it is one point more and a clean sheet."

Could I just say, it you dont score you CANT win

The player I'm most confused about is NKodou.... Where has he gone again

One problem with our squad is when we we bring our "A" game we look amazing, on other days like to day you notice a distinct lack of pace in our team bar son, walker and to a lesser extent Rose. This would have been the perfect time to bring on Nkodou. He has the pace and skill to beat a player or two and then drill a cross into the area.

Yes it was. We've seen countless times players get written off on here, only to then end up being lauded a while later, and yet still there's no patience whatsoever for a 22 year old who's been with us for about 4 months.

Lamela last year had reached lauded status, now he has a couple of poor efforts and he's brick again.

And all this from a draw. Welcome to GG I guess.

Wont argue over it. It's a forum, we all have opinions you have yours, I have mine. At the end of the day I want to see all our players succeed and I enjoy it when a player proves me wrong because it means they have come good.
I havent asked for him to be sold in the next window, and he wont be, but right now we need a striker that can finish to win us games and I just dont think he is that man, but then thats the clubs fault for not having another option

There were people on here last season who could not wait to see the back of Son

I'd actually be concerned if was getting plenty of chances and missing them

The bigger concern is we're not creating as much as we can and actually looked quite blunt today in that dept

Nonsense. We had no problems scoring last season and this was the first time that we have not scored in the league this season.
we scored plenty but was there a repeatable system of play? or was it up to individual players to make it up?
very few crosses and direct shots outside the box - and to match that no one in the box off the last defender. what was evident is that we did not want to rush towards goal but allowed the opposition to reorganize while we took too many touches on the wings.

son and janssen are well capable of running the channels or going for the rebound... suprised we aren't trying this after at all today.

Eriksen poor
Lamela poor (could've been sent off)
Weird subs (Son and Alli off for Jansen and Sissoko)
Sissoko could've been sent off for elbow to the chops (could still kop a ban)

Wow. Sounds like a bit of a grim day - I was more worried about conceding than struggling to score, so that's definitely concerning. How'd Dier do?

Got it right.

:(

Must not mention this.

Don't mention the war, eh? :p

Well, I guess we're still unbeaten, but from what you folks and r/coys are saying, that's not entirely down to our superiority. If I recall correctly, we're also two points down now on the tally we had in the same fixtures last season. :(

The system we played was interesting with Dembele in mind.
Pretty much all the time he has played as one of the two in a 4-2-3-1, with Dier. I think it didn't suit him or us where he was in the 4 ahead of Wanyama. Also his understanding with Wanyama isn't so good and was often facing the wrong way which hindered our progressive play. It was not until the second half until he moved back and we had more control of the game. Bournemouth tiring also helped. Of course, it is good he got 90mins under his belt, but I would like to see him not in AM, as he is not as effective there.

Where was GKN? We do lack pace and will to go around the outside. Or indeed get the one striker into the 6 yard box or POMO.

P#ss poor the last 2 matches. Would City, Arsenal, Chelsea et all, only pick up 2pts from WBA and Bournemouth away. I think we know the answer.

Title winning team, sorry far from it. Top 4 challengers, probably

As opposed to the Goons that dropped points to Boro at home today or Chelsea who dropped points against Swansea, you know the same Swansea that are currently resting second from bottom. And as for Emirates Marketing Project, if they cannot beat a poor Celtic then I guarantee you they will drop points to "lesser" teams this season. Dude you need to take a chill pill.

Why does other teams weak performances excuse our poor ones?
I don't much care what others do, only Spurs.

Just read that:
  • Tottenham have now gone unbeaten in their opening nine top-flight games of a season for the fourth time in their history (also 1959-60, 1960-61 and 1990-91).
Hmmn, win against Leicester and then get a couple of wins going and who knows how this season might turn out....mind you Leicester will be a tough game, they are coming into form after a poor start. How we need Son to continue his goal scoring streak, starting next Saturday

Dude, if you were paying attention you would know I was not making any excuses, my post was in direct response to somebody looking at our performance today and suggesting that Chelsea, the Goons and Emirates Marketing Project would not drop points to such teams.

If I remember rightly we have beaten Stoke 4:0 in our last 2 league matches against them. Interestingly Stoke have beaten Chelsea in their last two matches against them. Now I am not judgin', I'm just sayin'
