Timo Werner

If you can be assed sifting through many threads on here you’ll see me saying enough positive things about him.

I’m realistic about his weaknesses though - and 20+ years of largely trophyless football, and multiple failures to invest in the football side at crucial moments, means that he can be criticised at times, imho.

My biggest worry about him is that he often repeats the same mistakes.

The vast majority of levys wealth is his shares in tottenham. He hasn't got billions to invest with.

In terms of strikers, Richarlison, Nunez and Werner are the worst three “finishers of good opportunities” that I can think of.

Give Werner 10 golden chances and he will score one and give it the biggun. Not my type of player at all.

Here’s hoping, if it goes through.

Strong Frazier Campbell /classic Levy type January deal to me (i.e, cheap, convenient and destined to eventually underwhelm) but I’ll be very happy to be proved wrong - and will look forward to his goals leading us to a top four finish.
Why is it levy?

It really isn’t
If we had one guy calling the shots no manager would ever join the club

I know it was a joke

End of the day he is filler in a window where the likelihood of anyone selling a top top player is limited and one in which we have players in his area away on Internationals. Its not "cheap" or a Levyism its actually smart work in the short term. If it doesn't work out we lose zero, if we can expose his pace and workrate to a positive then it might be something really good.

As I said earlier I am ok with it and actually interested to see him in closer quarters

I twigged that when I realised who had posted

Sounds like a shrewd signing. It's no risk, all potential reward.
Buying any player in Jan, a striker even moreso. And if we are going to focus on Veliz making it, then we don't want to spend big.
He's a good option in the squad. If Richi wants to be Tottenham Hotspurs no.9 - do it. Make sure Werner barely gets a kick.
