Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Licence To Stand

The building is 30, Commercial Road N18 it is/was the the warehouse of Innovation schoolwear, who are one of my school uniform suppliers for my business. I spoke to a staff member this morning who has been there since the early hours who told me the owners, the Cohen family, really lovely people, can not do anything yet as they are strict Jews and since pre-dusk on Friday their religion prevents it. What a horrible scene awaits them. Still, no one was hurt or killed which is the main thing.Innovation.JPG

A letter from the NFL to the Haringey planning service. It also confirms that the special planning meeting on December 8th will deal with the stadium.

This is genuinely the best thread on the site. Plenty of optimism, honest opinion, interesting hopes, with some actual "ITK" sprinkled in and any disagreements are friendly and balanced*. Seems to be the one thread that brings all us posters "together" too.

Anytime i need a bit of a lift about Tottenham after a defeat or having read mudslinging or the same tired round robin arguments in other threads this one never disappoints.

Thanks to all contributors.
COYS.

* except a little bit surround the MK Dons stadium, but to be fair thats not "our" stadium :D

Mace will become an integrated member of the Project Team and develop the pre construction plans, detailed construction programmes and work with the Club to procure specialist sub contract tenders for the new stadium works.

Commenting on the appointment, Daniel Levy, Chairman, said, “This is another step towards the delivery of one of the best stadiums in the world. We are delighted to have Mace on board. They bring a wealth of experience and I know they share our commitment to ensuring that the development will be first class in every aspect. We now await Haringey Council's Planning Committee decision on 8 December 2015.”

Mark Reynolds, Mace Chief Executive said: “We are privileged and thrilled to join the team to take the new stadium to its next stage of development. We look forward to working with the Club and its consultants to make sure the project is a success. It is of critical importance as it is the flagship development that will act as a catalyst for the regeneration of this area."

Mace is an international consultancy and construction company employing over 5,100 people, across five continents. Mace have been involved in delivering a number of significant projects, such as The Shard, Birmingham New Street Station, Heathrow Terminal 5, and the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games stadium and venues.

Mace is a strange call as there not a company known for stadiums and in my experience are expensive whilst being arrogant and actually a bit brick. No self delivery capability and contracting in all design and consultancy makes them an odd choice. Can only assume there is a relationship or its on a fee based model

Don't know much about Mace, although admittedly my knowledge of construction companies beyond Vinci and Bechtel is a bit limited. What kind of portfolio do they have?

Danke, although I see it's at the bottom of the OS article. Doesn't mention whether their actual involvement (and there are, to my limited knowledge, multiple construction partners usually credited in a relatively even fashion when it comes to big builds) extends to design in any way, but the club likely know best. Maybe, as @Bedfordspurs mentioned, there's a relationship at play between the club and Mace: perhaps they've been recommended by Populous or something.

If the matchday experience is anything like T5 then I'll be happy. The Shard isn't horrible either.

I was involved in T5 and the olympics and Mace had some involvement but they were always the minor partner

They were part of CLM on the olynpics so didn't build anything only were part of the "clients" consortium along with CH2M and Laings (who I used to work for before i went consulting)

Similarly at T5 all the big stuff was done by Laings. Mace weren't even given responsibility for PPE as their not hands on

That may suit the project and it is how big civil contracts are going as no one wants the overhead but personally.... mcalpines for me would be my choice as their world class stadium builders
