OOMT: Spurs vs Woolwich Nomads

Slept badly - too excited.

Looking forward to heading up to the ground in a few hours....

Tempted to wait outside the Park lane as they get their minuscule escort in, always amusing.

Though will probably just go in and sit patiently in my seat.....

I've been to the bricker three times already, and can feel a fourth coming soon. And it's not yet eleven. Sure sign of a derby day.

Such a big game. If we win, Arsenal really would be in a negative spiral. We'd go 6 ahead and they'd be nine off the top. We have the chance to ruin their league season and given their form, their injuries, our consistency, everything is set up for us to destroy them. We looked like men against their boys at the Emirates and everything points to us being able to really show them who the real team is.

...but that's what bothers me. Everything is set up for us. If we win it is such a marker. But we've been here so many times before. So many times Arsenal have been questioned deeply in the press only to come back on a great run. So many times Wenger has to go through the ringer but they always come out of it. Everything is set up for us and because it's such a good opportunity, I just can't quite believe that we'll do it.

I've been so confident about us all season, saying we should win the league, but today the nerves have got to me. I can only think in the negative. Even the fact that we battered them at their place says to me Wenger will have a plan to combat them this time. We've beaten them at our place with worse teams and when they've been better, but I just can't believe we'll do it.

The one thing that makes me think we can is that I think this truly is a different Spurs. We've always had good players. We've always had decent team spirit. But it's always felt somewhat fleeting, never really sustainable. Every time there has previously been a talk of a North London power shift I've never believed it because we've all seen it too many times before. But now, we truly are exhibiting the qualities of a proper team. A top team. If luck is on our side, we should win this game today. I just can't quite believe how utterly huge it will be if we do though, and because of that I can't quite let myself believe that we will.

But fudge it, COYS!!!!!!

Bloody just started raining! Will be commencing the consumption of alcoholic beverages in T minus 32 minutes.

I feel fantastic right now no nerves at all. I spoke to Masons dad last night and told him on behalf of all our fans to tell Mason to smash these clams up but in nicer words!! :)

Oh it's a grand old team to play for.....

Incidentally, I'll be in the bricklayers from 1130. I'm a good looking fat guy (true story) wearing a blue 1960s style short sleeve with the number 4 on the back if anyone's in there.

Who is braver? For me the bolder team wins today. They are smarting with a lot to prove - which makes them dangerous. We are in better form and at home.

I am refusing to get involved in the hype. Just play well, be brave and start well and we'll see where we are at 4pm.

After the set back to West Ham, we have to get back to winning ways by beating Arsenal. With them being one of our direct rivals in the title race, surely this is a must-win match for us. But it is not going to be easy as Arsenal will be desperate to win after losing their last 3 matches. But we cannot afford to drop any points in this match as Leicester can extend their lead over us in the league table. We have a good record against Arsenal at home in recent years. But we did lose 2-1 to them in the League Cup earlier in the season. Hope we can take revenge over Arsenal for that in this match.

Kane inspired us to beat Arsenal last season with 2 well-taken goals. We badly need him to score in this match if we want to beat Arsenal again. He has not been at his best in the last few matches. In fact, he has only scored 2 goals from open play since the start of the year. Somehow we need to get him score in this match. Lamela was our best player against Arsenal away. He helped us keep the 1-0 lead and we only conceded the equalizer after he was replaced. So, he will be one of our key player again. Ironically Lamela had his 24th birthday yesterday. Hopefully Lamela can give his best performance and a goal or two as his birthday gift the way Eriksen scored the winning goal against ManCity on his birthday ! We will need a big game from Eriksen and his deadly freekicks will come in handy if he can score from those !

This game will be won or lost in midfield. So, we need to win the midfield battle to have any chance of winning this match. Wish Dembele is fit to start this match. His presence alone will give our midfield the extra boost we badly need ! Dembele always makes our midfield much stronger when he plays alongside Dier. But if doesn't start, want Dier to partner Alli there. Surely, Alli must start this match. We cannot have inexperienced or error-prone youngsters like Mason, Bentaleb and Caroll start this match. Arsenal can take advantage of any mistakes we do in midfield.

Our defence have not kept a clean sheet against Arsenal since 2009 when we drew 0-0. The last time we beat Arsenal without conceding a goal was way back in 1995 when we won 1-0. How great it will be if we can keep a clean sheet in this match ! Too bad Vertonghen is still out injured. Without him, Alderweireld and Wimmer has to work extra hard to stop Arsenal scoring. I think Lloris has to be more vocal to organize the defence in front of him. No doubt Walker and Rose will start this match. Just hope they will help our attack without forgetting their defensive duties.

Can see this being a tough match as Arsenal badly need a win. But if we want to stay in the title race, we badly need to win this match as well. Performance is not really important as long as we can score and win ! Hope we will get that all-important win to improve our chances to win the league title !

Not that nervous (not until kickoff), but time is moving so slowly. Have resorted to cleaning the apartment. Gonna need a beer soon.

The advantage we have is that for Arsenal its a 'must not lose' - we'd be 6 points ahead of them and with a better GD if they lose so I cant see them coming out all guns blazing. Expect them to be more cautious

It's a different Spurs, but also a different Arsenal. The heat real is on them here and valiant second isn't going to be good enough, especially behind Leicester. They have no excuse this year.
There's no one I can see in that team that's going to stand up and be counted. Their only hope is we freeze.

Alli also needs to keep his head today. You just know that they'll try to wind him up, particularly if that c*** Flamini gets on the pitch

Summed me and probably 1000's of other Spurs fans up totally.

Years and years of false dawns have meant we just cant get overconfident no matter what. Yes today we probably are favourites to win, but that only makes it worse.
Another chance for us to go top (okay maybe for 5 hours) and we all know how that has ended everytime it has come around for the last 20plus seasons.
We are different team from previous seasons, but we still have that 'Spurs' in us. I know all teams suffer shock defeats, but the loss to Saudi Sportswashing Machine knocked me back for weeks.
The City restored a lot of faith, but Weds night rocked me again. I didnt think we would win, had it as a draw, but was clinging to hope that we had changed and we would totally become the real deal and take our chance.

Defeat today would not be the end of the world, but it would dent confidence and all those doubts would resurface. We would still be in a decent position. Top 4 would still be in our hands and even Leicester could lose and we would still be in a title race, but would anyone truly think we could it with those games in April.

One massive performance today to be the catalyst for bigger things. Come on Tottenham, bring your A-game, lets get 3pts on the board, whatever way it takes, perferably a nice 2 goal win, but if it needs a scrappy one goal win, so be it
