Missed Ivanovic punch in lead up to Chelsea winner.

I now we are scoring too little, but stats can be misleading. For example each and every of Bales hope-and-hammer shots from 20-50 yards out over the last games count as "chances created". Each and every of Kabouls headers sailing 3 yards over the bar count. Each and every of Rafas freekicks in the wall. Each and every of Ade's curiously inctricate finishes like against Sunderland, where he could head a cross ever so easily in from 2.5 yards but instead made such a soft, cushioned impact it barely trickled to the defender who cleared it on the line.

Also, we don't create a whole lot open chances. How much did we create against Norwich from wide open chances ?

Isn't that exactly the point? Those ARE chances. They are mostly ill conceived, poorly taken, and ultimately wasted, but they are chances nonetheless. So how is that stat misleading?

Just saw the video. Sweet jesus, what is football coming to? Had he done that to some bloke on the street, it would have been a hefty fine and possibly jail time for the ****.

Anyone who doesn't see the intent in that punch is either clueless, blind or with the mental capacity of a two day old hamster. All three suitable descriptions for Chelski fans and FA bosses, unfortunately.

Can you put money on "No action taken" anywhere?

Really, that punch should be a ten match ban, three isn't enough. Totally unacceptable.

"FA say '#cfc defender Branislav Ivanovic’s appeal against an FA charge for violent conduct has been dismissed.' Must serve 3 games."

Good stuff.

Chelsea's top-four hopes haven taken a blow after defender Branislav Ivanovic was found guilty of violent conduct and handed a three-match ban.

The right-back was charged by the Football Association (FA) on Tuesday after being caught on video striking Wigan's Shaun Maloney in the midriff during the Blues' 2-1 win at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Ivanovic contested the charge, but the FA's panel deemed he was guilty at a hearing on Thursday and will now miss the club's next three games - including Sunday's FA Cup semi-final against Tottenham.

Referee Mike Jones missed the incident during the game, allowing the FA to take retrospective action against the Serbian, who has been in excellent form for the London club of late.

the 28-year-old has made the right-back position his own in recent months and has scored three goals in his past three Premier League games.

Is Luiz really injured?

On a side note - 3 match ban is a joke, imv - should be 6-9 at the minimum, this is borderline GBH. Shockorama.

Di Matteo thinks the ban was totally wrong and unfair at this stage of the season..

So you can assault somebody and get banned as long as its not in the last month of the season, ****
