Emmanuel Adebayor - Officially gone \o/

Quite frankly if he back with the team on a permanent basis I would rather Coulthirst be in the team before Adebayor

If true, and I stress "if", I say jettison the fcukers next month

If Kaboul has seen the error of his ways and is prepared to get his head down I would still keep him. It's whether he can rediscover the Younes of old, because the 2014/15 version has been a letdown. Where's that Kaboul that played so well alongside King (or have I sort of answered my own question)

Think injuries have just caught up with him - he's so slow on the turn now and doesnt have the leap which he used to have when he won so much in the air. Ledley played on an extra year when he was past it; Kaboul's not in his class but same problem

Methinks maybe the captaincy should stay with Lloris

Should have gone to Lloris in the first place.

For all i think that Lloris has leadership qualities when it comes to game situations i want the captain to be an outfield player. When a Ref decides he doesn't want to talk to the players which happens sometimes the rules allow for the captain to speak to the referee, not exactly easy if its in the opposition half.

Don't know if anyone has posted this but seeing the news that Henry has left Red-Bulls gotme thinking that there is now a designated player spot available there. Wonder if we could persuade them to take Adebayor?!

I'm sure the vice captain could speak to the ref just before the game and advise the ref of this i.e. our captain may be 70 yards away, can I speak on his behalf?

He's the captain of his national team, good enough for me. Kaboul doesn't even get in the team.

Yes i agree with that but we all know that would mean the Referee using soem common sense, rarely seen from many refs in my eyes.

Vice captain is permitted to talk to the officials in place of the captain if the captain is unavailable, ie at the other end of the pitch/receiving treatment/in goal. Ref speaks to both captains before the game and this is communicated then. Referee can then speak to the vice captain to reiterate how they want the game played but this can also be chosen to relayed by the captain, every ref is different. Referees are also governed by the respect rules and need to communicate to a team if for example they want a player to reign it in a bit then they will speak to the vice captain and instruct them how their teammate needs to behave. It's an integral part of the communication process and isn't simply skipped if the captain is a goalkeeper and play is at the other end of the field. The referee is duty bound to control the game in every sense of the word and communication is very much a two way street.

This Guy is a total waste of space, for one reason or another how many games has he been available for selection out of the number of games we have played since he has been with us, when he plays he has a "languid" style but that is not what I would call it, he has ability no question but we should be talking about that ability not all the rubbish that comes with him, imo he has been a disaster, a total "wage thief " I think we as a club have been very weak with him.

Speaking at a press conference, Pochettino replied when asked about his relationship with Adebayor: "My relationship with Emmanuel is good. I was a player and I understand players. After the internationals he came back with a back problem and after that there was a virus. I spoke to him today at training and he is not ready to play. He feels weak. Maybe in the next games he will be ready to help the team."

As a Europa league specialist hopefully.

This is why I find myself defending a player I don't even like. Look you can say this year he has been poor (along with others we should be relying on for goals tbh)

However to call him a complete failure just shows yor complete hatred of someone for a variety of other pre-conceived ideas and prejudices.

According to wikipedia he has scored 35 prem goals in 88 appearances. Hardly a ''disaster'. Also I read he has over 25 assists in that time.' His record has been good.

Yes he isn't perfect and is a frustrating, enigmatic player - much like many others in world football..... If he wasn't then he wouldn't be playing for us. He cost 5million pounds and is on 100k a week paid by us - 5 million quid for someone with the best goal ratio for the club in 22 years and people hate him?? It stinks tbh. Look at some of our other signgings and the amount they are costing us for minimal return.

He has been poor this year but last season and even in the first year a lot of people went silent and came out attacking him as soon as he put in some average performances. 'He had a few good games when he first came into team and then was ****' is something I heard trotted out last year. My word I watched every game and he carried us at various points.

When we talk about wastes of money, not contributing, not working hard for the team then there are a fair few to put in front of the firing squad first
