OMT *** Tottenham Hotspur vs Fiorentina***

Shadow squad Thank you Mopo! I don't wish to see Kane, Ali, Dembele, Toby at all on Thursday night.

Stronger team for the Palace game

Vorm
Trippier Alderweireld Wimmer Davies
Dier Alli
Lamela Eriksen Chadli
Kane

Would be my guess, with an outside chance of Carroll instead of Alli. Would be very surprised if our two CBs, Dier, Eriksen and Kane didn't all start.

I hope we field a strong side and get a good result and if we do that we can change it up for the second leg and save a couple for the Swansea game.

United would need 2 points a game and us 1 between here and the end of the season for them to over take us

that'd be my guess for what we are planning

Poch didn't play strong team in 6 games just to throw this competition away now.
He's played in it himself having never made it to the Champion's League.
He probably rates it as a higher status than the FA Cup.

I can see him playing a really strong team and then weaker ones in the next 2.
I think he'll go with the players he usually plays in Europe this season.

Lloris (6 starts in the Europa this season)
Trippier (6 starts)
Alderweireld (6 starts)
Wimmer (2 starts, Vertonghen 4)
Davies (4 starts)
Dier (6 starts)
Carroll (2 starts, Dembele has 1, Mason 2)
Lamela (5 starts)
Eriksen (4 starts)
Alli (4 starts)
Kane (3 starts)
You sure about that? Maybe I'm getting wires crossed but iirc he was dead set against the Europa when he arrived. Seem to recall reading at the time that Levy made it crystal clear he had to take it seriously.

If lloris is injured for the Swansea game (touch wood) then it's good that Vorm will have had two games prior to that with at least a few similar players infront of him, in quick succession

I like the idea of winning EL in case we come 4th and we end up with a freaky situation with, Eg Chavs and Man u winning CL and EL respectively..

We only need to win 4 games to reach the EL final. Actually we could draw 8 games and still get there.

Hate to sound like a brick stirrer but I didn't see Bentaleb in the video that they released of the players training, yet he's not listed as injured?

Has he lost his passport or is he really out of favour?

He would have played for the U21s earlier in the week in that case but neither he nor CCV nor Onamah played

I don't think the point is how many games we win or draw, but how many we have to play that will tire the squad and potentially impact our title chase.

Anyone know who travelled to Florence? OS doesn't seem to have anything.

Hugo Lloris is set to miss our Europa League round of 32 first leg clash with Fiorentina.

The French international goalkeeper suffered a slight knock to his shoulder right at the end of Sunday’s victory at Emirates Marketing Project and Mauricio Pochettino says he’s likely to miss Thursday night’s game in Florence and possibly Sunday’s FA Cup match at home to Crystal Palace as a result.

“Bad news - in the last action against Emirates Marketing Project, Hugo got a knock on his shoulder and is out for tomorrow and maybe out for Sunday,” the Head Coach told Spurs TV today (Wednesday, February 17).

“We’ll see next week if he’s available to play the second leg against Fiorentina.”

Mauricio also confirmed that a couple of young players are among the group that travelled to Italy.

“Josh Onomah and Cameron Carter-Vickers are with us in the squad,” he added. “That’s very important but the squad is strong, we are in a good period and it’s important to keep that.”

Jan Vertonghen and Clinton Njie remain out with knee injuries.

...

You would have to assume that this means Bentaleb has traveled with the squad?

I genuinely think United won't get through this round

Tbh I was thinking the opposite, I thought of the 3 of us they are the ones certain to progress. Tbh not sure I want them to go out at this round. We play them the weekend after the Q/final 1st leg, so even if we dont get there if might help us if they do (but maybe no further)

Can i vote for Utd & Liverpool to both get through then draw eachother?
