Satisfied with the draw but wish we had won this match. It has been a long time since we beat a decent team away in Europe. Was hoping we could change all that by beating Fiorentina. Instead, we had to rely on a lucky penalty to get this draw. We need to do much better if we want to progress to the next round of the EL.
Credit to Chadli for scoring from the penalty. But it looked like a very soft penalty. There was only a minimal contact on Davies which another ref might not have given the penalty. But we badly needed that penalty as we didn't look like scoring apart from that. Don't understand why Lamela didn't play at all in this match. After the way he scored the hattrick against Monaco, he should have started this match. I think he could have won us this game if he hada come on atleast in the 2nd half.
This match is another prove that Alli needs to control his temper. He was very lucky not to be shown the red card after kicking at the Fiorentina player in the first half. Even after getting that yellow card, he was still going on rash challenges that could have got him another yellow card. Was very surprised Pochettino didn't replace him at half time. It could have cost us this game if Alli had received the red card. He still needs to learn a lot to become a top quality player.
There was an element of luck for their goal but maybe Vorm should have reacted faster. But apart from that, thought Vorm did well even if he didn't have much to do whole match. Thought our defence didn't look very comfortable as Inter had a few chances which they could have scored from. But at least we managed to avoid conceding the second goal.
It could have helped us greatly if we had won this match. Now we have all to do in the return leg at home. Hope we will play our best available players in that match to help us overcome Inter and progress to the next round.
