*** Tottenham Hotspur vs West Ham United OMT ***

I always felt he had no future any deeper than the top-end of the pitch...not only has he been brilliant there, today he excelled from the deeper of the two positions. His attitude and appetite looks nailed on, he is starting to score and I hold my hand up and say that as someone who thought he was on his way, he quite clearly is only on his way to the next first-team meeting. Excellent again today, and further proof of Poch's management and meritocracy! I love being proven wrong so emphatically!

He's fast on the way to becoming indispensable. Finally blossoming into the player that befits his considerable talent.

Thoroughly enjoyable to watch. This is fast becoming one of my favourite sides that I've seen in my time at the Lane too. Just the commitment to the cause, the willingness to fight for one another. No one is above their station, they all are pulling in the same direction to the tune of the general, Pochettino. Alli is now suspended but we roll with the punches, in will come Mason. We've lost Chadli who contributed a shed load of goals last season, and Lamela who in the last few games has been our star man. But in come Son or Dembele or Alli or whoever else. It's absolutely fantastic.

You keep expecting us to Spurs it up, but then it just hits you at times, that we are actually becoming a pretty dam good football side. I realise it's still early days in the season and Leicester are still above us (!), but we have so much cause for optimism. Let's hope it continues.

I am however a proper Spurs fan and now I live in dread that Pochettino will leave us and we will return to a Sherwood-esque period.

F*ck it, what will be will be... COYS!

Don't see the problem with what Jamie Redknapp said btw, he said we are good enough to finish in the top 4 but there are better teams above us who will win league game, he was very complimentary about Poch, didn't detect any bitterness. We haven't won the league in 50 years lads, harsh but true so you can understand why people need convincing.

Only City and Arse are better than us imo. The scum have an injury problem and city are also not performing. We don't want people talking up our chances, and we havn't had too many injuries yet, but under the radar we are in the mix. United may go out and buy more players, but they are a team that needs time. I think they are a little fortunate to be above us currently. They may 'click' but at the moment they are grinding out results without convincing.

Pundits talk about Pochettino working well with youngsters. One thing that I think has been overlooked, and important to the way Pochettino wants to play, is that not only does he work well with young players, but to a certain degree the style is dependent on a core of young players. The hard training and playing 2-3 games a week, doesn't fit well with older players. That's when you start picking up injuries and niggles all the time. Young players are better suited to that kind of physical approach. And young players will more easily adapt to a different way of playing than an established superstar.

I think today equalled a club record. not sure on PL era or not though...

Afaik, our record unbeaten sequence during PL era was 11 games back in the autumn on 2011.

PL record, commentators mentioned a 20+ record set in the 40s iirc

Apparently there was a 22 game unbeaten sequence in 1949/50 but that was in Div 2, during Arthur Rowe' first season as manager.

Would assume our best top flight run was the Double winners 16 games unbeaten (15 of which were wins) at the start of that glorious campaign.

I love how this team sticks up for each other. While it would be preferable to have Alli for the Cheat$ki game the fact that he stood up for Kane shows the spirit in the side. Likewise, Reid went in hard on Alli in the first half and Walker made sure Reid knew not to mess straight after.

The future's bright, the future's Lillywhite!

I swear, if my mother had another son and didn't tell me, it might well be you. I said EXACTLY THE SAME during the match and afterwards. EXACTLY!

And there were only the FOURTEEN passes leading up to the first goal today. I love this club. Always have, though being part of the 50,000 + when Don McAllister headed the winner against Bolton, being at the 9-0 against Bristol Rovers and all the other highs and lows.

The old Park Lane, heaving on cold mid-week nights, Alfie Conn's hair and 'tache flying in the wind...then the McNobb and Duncan days, Chrissy Jones, even Ian Moores geta a pass for the winner at Old Trafford (25-odd games for us?)...then came the duo and my romance kicked into another level...looking at Poch just makes me proud.

You know what i can't remember - i guess i must have said on here that i did if you are saying so, that's some memory on you Jord

I went to the Palace game. You were hung over or something, same against City. My conclusion was that you needed to go out and get wasted before every game.

Sakho and Carroll. Oh ****ing yes.
icon_scarfer.gif

Two up top? Spurs will sh*t themselves.

Attack ! Attack ! Attack!
icon_biggrin.gif

That line up will have the Spuds thinking

Not sure what I'm worried about the most... the prospect of losing or the prospect of Alli/Dier being the best Englishmen on the pitch.

Liking the average age of our squad too these days. Take Jelavic out of that 18 and it is even more promising

I think I read somewhere that we have the 6th youngest squad in the PL. The way to go imo

karen does not want me to watch the game she knows the hatred i have for this scum she wants to take me out because of my heart problems
icon_biggrin.gif

Spurs seem to be the Sky darlings at the moment
icon_eh.gif

Wroy is here to watch the Spurs English players, we obviously don't have any so he won't be looking at us.

Come on west ham let's smash this lot. No silly mistakes at the back and we can have this

6 minutes in, hardly seen the ball. Spurs obviously targeting the full backs. Both need to be error free today. Our fans in excellent voice

Dier the lying prick claiming Carroll elbowed him

You can see the influence of playing with England's other "stars" already.

Dembele wants Koutaye's shirt already and ref does **** all.

Better team so far looking sharp and hungry.

Aye, ref's made it quite clear he's only looking for fouls on Spurs players today.

Bit f dodgy defending and a stroke of luck *****

They are a lucky bunch aren't they.

Horrendous luck. Typical. Should be 1-1.

Lucky goal for them, no-ones fault. Been good since we went behind.

Thats not a free kick you taco.

I hate Taylor.

**** me. Unmarked.

Get a ****ing grip out there.

What the hell? tinkle poor defending again.

I hate these ***** from the bottom of my heart.

This will keep the sky roostersuckers chomping on thevspuds knobs

Get one back and game is on again!

Song for Moses for me

Antonio has to come on for Carroll

Noble and Moses off - Song and Zarate on please

joey in for jenkinson please

We need a Zarate to play behind

We need a new RB.

Jenkinson is completely useless.

Carroll and Sakho up top isn't working. Zarate for Carroll, please.

Clinically efficient !

Turning point - Kane misses. We will win 3-2 now !!

Kane

He plays like a ...dong

I see they're teaching Alli well in the art of diving.

Tottenham playing how we only wished we could at home.

They love a dive at White Hart Lane.

****ing Taylor is a ****.

I never understand why nearly everyone looks forward to this fixture every season. We just embarrass ourselves near enough all the time. They, like Everton must love playing us. It's just so frustrating. Sometimes I think the fans care about this fixture more than the players do

We just embarrass ourselves near enough all the time.

Our recent record against them suggests otherwise.

To be fair, the goals were not down to Spurs being any good. We went to s*** after that though and deserve to be behind.

I hate to dig out Noble but he needs to wind his neck in against these or he will get sent off. He is better than making wild swings as attempted tackles.

I can't help thinking the manager is under instructions from the owners to play Carroll so he is in the shop window and can be sold in January

Tomkins you ****ing ****

Sloppy, second to everything, i am so angry with the dismal display, waited 2weeks for this **** .

My Mrs wanted to go out this afternoon and I ended up having a ruck to stay and watch it. Whose the ****ing idiot !

Can we just put this Noble and Tomkins for England bollox to rest now please?

Got it wrong from the start. Stats this season show how hard Spurs' midfield works and we go into the game with two strikers. Could see what was going to happen as soon as I saw the team.

"You're ****ing ****" - not sure which sets of fans are singing that the loudest.

Don't get me wrong they're a good side but we're making them look like absolute world beaters.

Here comes another fine from the FA

Noble misses next game bonus or not?

England's Ryan Mason coming on.
icon_lol.gif

Anthony Taylor, total thunderclam

Ha u having a laugh west ham. Kyle walker scoring.
icon_lol.gif

Spurs fans make me laugh. They call this our 'cup final' yet spend all of their time singing about us.

Not that they're wrong today, of course.

Come back is on!

Yes! Take that Kyle Wa*ker!

Spurs fans go quiet depsite being 4-1 up LOL

Sad thing is if we didn't concede 4 today we would have won.

Could the Sky commentators be further up Tottenham's arse , it's embarrassing .

Well that was a load of b*llocks

I'm sure we all agree that Tom Carroll should be in the England squad after that 3 mins for Spuds.

Pains me to say it, but Spurs for the title?

To me they are average as ****, but we got totally outmuscled throughout the match, and the ball bounced their way more than once today.

This is starting to feel like last season when we were flying and then Carroll came back and everything just looks so much harder.

A quick look at social media and they're enjoying their cup final i see. Every post I've seen is tagging a west ham fan too, they're bizarrely obsessed with us considering they spend most of their time insisting otherwise.

Reading Glory Glory has cheered me up, they genuinely think they can win the league.

Such delusion runs through that club, it's so strange.

Great game yesterday - atmosphere seemed a bit tasty outside the ground as the police escort brought the spammers in. Saw quite a few bloodied noses. Felt like it could really kick off.

Reading the guardian this morning and seen that someone had been stabbed. Before the game an air ambulance landed somewhere by the ground. We could see it from the bell and hare.

http://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/nov/22/west-ham-fan-stabbed-tottenham-game

Some of the songs towards the end of the game were comical.

"You're fudging brick..."
"Lalalalalala your brick..."

and "Why are you still here."
