The Diamond Jubilee Thread

Kill the lot of em and claim the land back. No one will ever tell me tourism in London would be effected one fudging percent if this lot fudged off. Look at bath York and all the other historic places in the uk full of tourists. All due to England's history nowt to do with the royals. Hope everyone enjoyed the rain yesterday!! ;)

How far back do you want to go to define ours? Are the Falklands ours? Historically they're not. Does Israel belong to its inhabitants? Not historically, but I can't imagine you disputing either claim.

Once something belongs to someone you have two choices, live with it or forcibly take it.

I don't have the appetite for forcibly taking it, that would make us no better than the French! ;)

The royal family brings a lot of attention for sure but the UK, especially London, Cornwall, Devon etc have a fudgeload to offer without the royal family. France, the US, China, Spain and Italy all have significantly more tourism than the UK. Only one of those have a royal family.

Obviously you cannot simply compare like for like but the UK has enough to offer to be able to still draw in a lot of tourists without the royals. No-one comes to London just to see Buckingham Palace or the Tower of London.

Personally, I'm neutral about them. Couldn't care less if they stay, couldn't care less if they go. But I don't think loving the queen should be a pre-requisite for being patriotic. I can certainly see the argument for removing them.
 
Fantastic concert tonight

Fcuk its great to be British... for the past GHod knows how long I've felt cocooned into something without a voice.

But tonight fudge I feel British. A call for Great British day, once a year remind everyone how fooking great we fooking are.
 
Would be good if the Rolling Stones played, but more likely to be Take That.

Madness with the projector on Buckingham Palace is great... lol at turning it into a row of terrace housing.
