yeh he did well tbf, at the point I posted that he was coming on and I was hoping the crowd wouldn’t take it out on him and just the fact it was such a mare to come into. Ironically he may have been more relaxed knowing the game was gone when he came in and played better as a result of that!

No pressure benefitted him as the game was already over.

But I do admit the possibility that if it was at home he came on at 5 - 0 down he would have struggled more with the toxicity, but it seems a big ask to expect fans to be super positive about everything that they're seeing.

When we went out to Milan, my lad stood up off the couch and said “I hate Tottenham.” That’s when he became a real fan.

He sat on the same couch today furious with what he was watching no doubt fearing the pasting he’ll take in school tomorrow and feeling he’ll never see us win anything.

I felt like I was the worst dad in the world. Think he felt the same.

I took my 2 boys out for the day today. The youngest was a bit perplexed by the idea that we were going miss the game but I just couldn't do it anymore. I've brought them in to this world of supporting Spurs but they've seen enough 'sexy'ness' in recent weeks, I thought a break would do them good. I've drilled into them that there will be a new manager soon, and we are looking for one who plays attacking football etc. I just bloody hope it turns out to be true.

In the first 5 mins, Skipp was outnumbered 3 to 1 and dispossessed and Saudi Sportswashing Machine cut through us. Shortly after, Sarr was in a similar position and it resulted in a goal.

We do not have the players for a 4. Romero (without a really good player beside him), Dier and Lenglet are not good enough to play in a 4. Perisic and Porro are not full backs and never will be.

The defensive side of our team is only able to compete as a 5. We also don’t have a creative midfielder which makes a 4-3-2-1 or 4-3-3 formation really difficult. The squad has been constructed for 5-3-2 or 5-2-3 and defensive, counter attacking football. We’re as far from “our DNA” as you can get.

I also missed todays game and have zero interest in watching the highlights either, really we're all just waiting for the summer and hopefully we can at least sneak into Europe but even that looks doubtful.

I was very pessimistic before the game, and predicted we'd be lacklustre and lose 4-0, and I wouldn't bother watching the game. Then I thought that maybe I was a bit too pessimistic, until I saw the line up. My word! 4-3-3 is well and good, if you have practised it for a while, and if you have the personell to play it, which we absolutely don't have atm!

WTF was Stellini and Mason thinking? Even if Davies and Royal were fit, you wouldn't play a new formation away at Saudi Sportswashing Machine as the test bed! Absolute madness!
Not that it mattered, as I don't think any formation would have helped, according to the reports.
But the worst is that most of us predicted this was bound to happen! That says an awful lot! We see all the signs, and it seems that those in charge have no clue. That's fuxking scary!

We need a new manager announcement NOW. Sadly though, I think this is just the beginning, and we'll decline further in coming seasons. I don't think we'll be top 6 for a long time.

It's almost as if things aren't as simple as "going to a 3 in midfield'. Who'd have thunk it, now we've been basing our squad around a back three with wingbacks system...

At least there's an easy excuse for next season when we're flimflam in a back four like today. It's at least another year of atrocious football we can justify. Brilliant.

I did the same. Took the boys to a park, made a bonfire and made hot dogs and grilled marshmallows on the fire. It was bloody cold today, but we had a splendid time.

Yes, I'm not saying that we have a VVD. We dont have a CB partnership/combination for any formation, but your point was about a system with a back 4. The above is about the only system which I think we could go to with a back 4. That midfield trio could make us more solid if they play in the right manner.

Challenge is we get consistently over-run in midfield with just 2 in there. Means that if you dont go 4-3-3 then the only option to get 3 in the middle is 3-5-2 with Kane and Richie up top. There's no sign of Son and Kulu being dropped though.

We only have 3 fit CMs though a 3 man midfield relies on keeping Sarr/PEH/Skipp fit and playing the 90 mins each game

That may be where we're at to be fair. I legitimately had a lovely weekend, until watching the recorded Spurs game where we were pretty much raped by Saudi Sportswashing Machine.....

Props for the willock assist, if you don't respect that goal you just don't truly like football.

I think you are going to be right. These last few weeks has been more worrying than it has felt for a very long time. Unforytuantel this is starting to look like the start of a regression back to the mid-table mediocracy of the late nineties.

It doesn't help that we are no longer a Football Club, but just a Business to make money.

People will still buy tickets, the club will still make money. We may well turn into Everton on the pitch until we somehow turn it around again in the future

Yes, agree about needing a new manager asap. We need some direction, even if that manager isnt coming in til the summer

Regarding the top 6, I think a new manager installing a new system can give us a huge lift. Look at what Potter and de Zerbi have done by installing a system at Brighton. Similar to Brentford, Fulham and others are punching well above their weight in terms of performances compared to the players which they have

So get that manager and a system, and add a keeper, couple defences and a creative player and I think we'll look a huge amount better

That a lot of us find other things to do instead of watching the games is, in my opinion, a strong testament to the state of the club, and supporters feelings about the team and club. It's not looking pretty.
