** OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Brighton & Hove Albion **

This season was Brighton's high water mark. Next season they'll be back at 12th, then 16th and relegation battles until they inevitably go down a few seasons from now.
I don't think they will. They have a good football setup that'll keep them mid-table at a minimum.

Stellini out now. Even Mason has more tactical nous than the Conti-lite. Stellini is no good for us. Let’s either give Mason the reigns or bring in someone as a stopgap like Chelsea did. At this moment, I would take Poch to see if he is the real deal Mk1 or the sad sack Mk2. Or maybe a Pleat or a Hoddle. Someone basically who understands how to play attacking football.

Hoddle. There’s a shout. Knows how to play 3 at the back. Would be much better than Stellini.

With Conte leaving we should just move away from 3 at the back. Its a difficult system to make work. We need different CBs and CMs for it to work. We are closer to a 4321 / 433 even then we need a bunch of additions but might as well do it in a more flexible system that suits more players types.

Ordinarily, I would absolutely agree but we have Porro and Perisic as the only full back options. I wouldn’t really trust either defensively. We also have three centre backs, none of whom I’d trust in a 2 (not even Romero). We’re built for 3-4-3 at the moment. Get someone in short term who might be able to make that work by introducing some attacking intent.

I think Porro is fine, but you need Davies so that you could go Porro-Romero-Dier-Davies.

However with Bisouma and Bentancur out, a 4-3-3 becomes harder as we're lacking bodies in midfield. We have the bare 3

Equally going 4-2-3-1 I think is difficult without really shoe-horning players in. Kane can't play as a 10 as he doesnt run enough, so you'd maybe need to play Kulu as the 10 and Perisic further forwards.

Could go 4-4-2 I guess with Kane and Richie up top and two of Son, Kulu and Perisic out wide

None of the formations are entirely convincing though

I think even a 3-5-2 would be better, at least it gets Kane and especially Sonny facing the oppo goal 10 yards further up the pitch and places him closer to Kane in theory...

We have to get more in midfield against half decent sides
And to do that we can… if we choose … sacrifice a CB who is being wasted marking space and sitting stupidly deep when we have the ball
4-3-3 gets more in midfield and less in at CB where we are struggling for capable numbers
Yes we have no left back currently but I’d chuck Lenglet there or even a youth player
This way you can play the 3CMs we have fit and potentially change the set up mid game to a 3-4-3 of 4-2-3-1
kulu can be the CM in the right games and sarr could in others

I also think Pierre is a much better pressing CM than he is a deep receiver
