There were blatantly more copies of selected players than others!! Otherwise why was it that everyone had the same player multiple times, coincidence?

Oh and the feeling you had of excitement in thinking that you had a new player, only to go to put the sticker in and he's already there gurning back at you :(

When the Postman puts a "unable to deliver" card through the letterbox for a parcel you been waiting for and the **** didnt even fudgein knock!!

Or when you wait in all day for a parcel and pop out for 5mins. Return and they have been and gone but you werent in!

Probably, I'm just fed up with feeling insignificant, worrying about the fact that I can't afford to live or have my own house and that for now I'll be stuck renting a room in a shared house for the rest of my days. I studied for a second degree and what was the point in that? I thought that it would be what helped my career take off and NOPE. So, to me if I could get a good job then it would be a tick in the career box and at least let me move forward from there. I know that I have the capability to succeed, I just have never been give the opportunity to achieve by anyone other than the folks who whilst supportive can't provide all the answers.

Very sad. I know how you must feel. Don't give up. Look for better jobs. They will come

Genuinely sorry to hear that, buddy

Don't stop trying - perhaps conisder moving to another city for increased opportunities?

I've never had to pay money to withdraw from a bank atm. Or actually in any atm outside of London. I'm talking about atms which are usually attached to small shops etc, whose policy I cannot imagine having anything to do with the bank.

There is 24/7 banking for free here anyway. Out of the bank/ post office etc atms.

Hi Hoot,

Those ATMs that are in small shops are either owned by a third party ( not a bank ) or by the shop itself. These guys need to make money to justify their investment. Therefore the charges. Just don't use them.
BTW, have you ever tried to get money from an ATM at a casino. You will pay mega bucks. Idiots who have lost their money, and probably drunk, have this notion that they can recover their loses. So they will pay anything from 2 to 10 % for using the ATM . SAD

My local shop has one of these "Cash Link" machines and it charges 1.99 to withdraw money!!! Plus the cheeky Turks who own the shop charge 50p on ALL card payments no matter how much you spend. Almost punishing you for not havin the readdies

Cash Link is a third party ATM provider. They put their ATMs in places where their are no Bank ATMs nearby. Therefore it is their investment in the ATM and the network.

They HAVE to make a profit on their investment.

You will also note that they frequently remove their ATM in a particular location if they are not getting the transactions to make a profit, and put it somewhere else.

As I said don't use them unless you have to

Actually yeah that tinkles me off. I have to PAY to take out my OWN money? Thats just fudgein ridiculous.

I have encountered those guys who charge 50p for a card payment - how convenient that the cash point that is free doesnt work. Not sure why they charge 50p - do they have to pay for something? I would understand if it is a credit card maybe but a debit

Hi DHSF,

OK. Let me "try" to explain. I will keep it simple and not go through all the details on what happens when you use your card. It goes through various parties, from you presenting your card at a shop to when the transaction is approved. All the parties along the line "take" a cut - but not the shop. The shop is charged a % of the amount of the purchase. This varies greatly depending on the shop. Petrol stations, supermarkets etc pay a fraction of a %. High class restaurants pay maybe 2 - 3 %. Jewelry shops, top hotels pay even more. The whole argument from the card companies is that if you don't accept their card you will lose business- Which is probably true.

However, the shop is NOT supposed to charge you anything - but some do, and that is against their agreement with the card company. But what do you do? You can report them to the card company - but don't hold your breath for any answers anytime soon.

You will usually notice this practice with small shops - not major chains, airlines, hotels, posh restaurants etc.

Hope this helps. If you have questions - please fire.

Same fudging brick every fudging year! People in this country are surrounded by snow at least half the year, but nobody here know how to drive as soon as there's snow on the ground. I don't have a long way to work, usually takes me about twenty minutes, but today I added at least six because some stupid cow had to drive in 45 km/h in the 80 zone, constantly meeting cars.
It's equally funny when the first snow fall, usually not very long after the weather report said that there will be snow in the next few days, and people act like it's the biggest surprise ever that it's actually there. A bunch of people still driving on summer tires end up out on a field or on the roof in some ditch, can't say I feel for them. Stupid pricks.

Thanks, that's what I'm considering at the moment. I am genuinely open to moving to any city in the UK for the right job opportunity as have no ties. At the moment it sucks but I'm the only one that can do anything about it.
