***OMT*** Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

Must win?

In terms of winning the title it is.

Although a draw at least gives us the chance to finish at least 3rd and above Arsenal with a win v Southampton next Sunday

A defeat we are going to start looking over our shoulder nervously, and puts real pressure on the team for the last home match

Smouldering...

I hope our boys our smouldering, anxious to run out at the bridge and put in a display worthy of champions, even if that realisation has gone, tomorrow is huge for us to show the rest of the world that we will not be going away any time soon.

It is all set up for us to be pooped on, live links to the Leicester team and fans waiting to celebrate Chelsea goals, being goaded by the Chelsea fans, Hazard and Fabregas actually putting in a performance worthy of their abilities, Arsenal fans hoping for another St. Totts day...in short everything is set up in short for the club I love to experience a night of pain.

I say bol--lox to that.

Regardless of this season our boys must show the spirit required to be successful in the future, this sort of game and experience tomorrow should remind all of you exactly what being a Tottenham fan truly means.

Nothing should be left to chance and every ounce of effort and energy must be used to try and win at that hell hole...make Leicester wait and work for the title, lets not give it to them on a platter against a Chelsea side who are suddenly in the mood for a game.

I can only hope and its this that often kills you, but I want us to win and I expect a reaction from Poch and the boys from the events of last Monday, Its time to show character and steel and mask maybe our only fault this season...not being clinical enough.

Its a crucial juncture and its time for our club to start realising its potential, the future starts here, and for me it does not start with the media glorifying a Chelsea win or draw, lets ram it back down their throats and show that we have the nerve as well as the quality.

COYS...cant smile without you!

From Walker's interview in the Gundiara

Tottenham have to go back to 1990 and the old first division for a league win at Stamford Bridge. Since then, they have drawn eight and lost 17.

there have been comments from the club’s caretaker manager, Guus Hiddink, and the players Cesc Fàbregas and Eden Hazard to the effect that they would prefer Leicester City to win the league.

It has needled some people at Tottenham

The 25-year-old was frustrated for almost all of 2014 when he laboured with a serious abdominal problem. He says that he played in pain from the beginning of the year, taking “painkillers for two or three months” before he succumbed in March.

He did not play again until December

It is sometimes forgotten that he was voted the PFA’s Young Player of the Year in 2011-12, ahead of Gareth Bale and Sergio Agüero

Mason in for Alli.
I'd settle for a 3-0 Tom Carroll super sub hatrick with Rose and Lamela sending Hazard and Fabregas out of the Euros.

hazard...he went on french tv saying he'd signed for us before he went to chelsea just to rile us up didn't he. arrogrant little tadpole. hope dembele and dier show him what real football is about. son needs the goals, hope he is up for it. i want playing against a full chelsea team no less. I need TP for my bunghole!

I would think so as well. Its going to be a battle and his strength could be key. Maybe N'jie on the bench in Chadli's place for an extra attacking option late on if needed

Nacer Chadli is many, many things, but adept at using his considerable body strength, he definitely is not. :p Carroll shields the ball better than Nacer does at times, and Chadli's bottle in the tackle has always been somewhat suspect. He makes up for it by being an incredibly adept goalscorer and a sort of shimmering presence (he isn't fast, or particularly small/stealthy, but he still ghosts into goalscoring positions with regularity), of course, but if we're looking for physicality on the wing/ in the middle, I'd actually go with Son. That or sticking Mason in there.

So, we have to win all 3 of our remaining matches to have any chance of winning the league title. So we have to treat all these matches as Cup finals. After all, we lost the League Cup final to Chelsea last season. So, it is time to get revenge of that. We don't have a good record at Chelsea and have not won there since 1990. But the past records means nothing when you are in the title race. Chelsea have nothing to play for but will be fired up just to kill off our league title chances. We cannot afford to let them have their way. Pochettino should remind the players about the League Cup final defeat and the Chelsea players' aim to stop us winning the league, just to make our players fired up for this match.

Since we badly need goals in this match, no doubt, Kane will be our key player again. We badly need him to inspire us to win here. He wasted a golden chance against WBA which proved to be costly for us. Hope Kane will be more clinical when it comes to one-on-one chances against the goalie like that.
I think we will need at least 2 goals to win this match. With Alli suspended, we are badly lacking goal scorers now. Wish other players like Eriksen and Lamela can suddenly become goal machines ! Eriksen can really help us if he can score from his freekicks in this match. He hit the post against WBA but that won't be enough for us as we badly need goals ! Similiarly, Lamela has been involved in many goal mouth actions in recent matches, hitting the post against WBA. Badly want him to score in this match as well !

I think this match will be won or lost in midfield. Just wish Dier will be fit to start. We need Dembele and Dier to be at their best to stop Chelsea. We are going to miss Alli badly in this match. Since we need goals, I think Chadli will be the best player to replace Alli. When he is on form, he can be very clinical in front of goal. Mason is too error-prone and won't help us to score goals. Son has been very poor since his injury and doesn't look like can score nowadays. Wish Njie is fit to play. He can really improve our attacking options.

Our defence have to be at their best to stop Chelsea. They have many players who can trouble us if given too many chances. Lloris, Vertonghen and Alderweireld have to be alert all the time to stop them. Lloris made the crucial error against WBA which cost us the win. Hope he can avoid mistakes like that in this match. For once, don't like us giving those unnecessary back pass to Lloris which he never dealts with comfortably. Vertonghen did well to force the own goal against WBA. Won't mind if he can help us score another here. Alderweireld too has scored many crucial goals from his deadly headers this season. It will help us greatly if he can find another here.

It is going to be a tough match. And we are going to be under a lot pf pressure throughout the match. But we have no choice but to beat Chelsea for the first time since 1990 if we want to stay in the title race. Hope we can get the all-important win to put pressure on Leicester in the title race.

All over the press today from Hiddink saying we don't have the fight to be in the title race, what a douche, lets ram these comments down their throats tonight

Says the manager who has never won a league title outside Netherlands ! His major trophy was the old European Cup with PSV Eindhoven almost 30 years ago in 1988 ! He is a nearly man of football, bottling many important semi finals in his career !

But he does have a point. I think many Spurs players still have not accept the fact we have been in the title race this season. Players like Rose admitted it themselves.
