**Official Other Games Thread, Season 2012/13**

Looking at the goal differences for the relegation candidates:

Sunderland -7
Saudi Sportswashing Machine -23 and dropping
Aston Villa -27
Wigan -23

Barcelona had to rely on 2nd half sub Messi to rescue a point against Athletic Bilbao, but now Atletico have taken the lead through Falcao almost straight from kickoff against Real.

Actually some of the results have gone our way.

Southampton without one of their better players missing next week hopefully.
Stoke should be safe now by the time we visit.
Saudi Sportswashing Machine could still need something on the last day
Wigan will be battling when they go to Arsenal.

Could really do with a QPR win tomorrow and a Sunderland win on Monday. QPR would then not be officially down and still something to play for at Arsenal, whereas Sunderland will be safe come the last day.

As for Wolves, I'm not really surprised tbh as they had some pipe dream to make their stadium 50,000 over a certain period of time even though they didn't NEED to re-build anything. Despite surviving by the skin of their teeth for two seasons running they decided to go ahead with phase 1 of the plan thus ignoring vital strengthening of the first team squad. What's worse is that the new stand saw half of the corner being built before being connected to other new stand but unable to use that corner until the upon completion of phase 2 because the current stand's roof blocks the view of the upper tier. Phase was delayed last year after the club said it to build a new training centre due to some rules on academy players. Complete farce.

Great exhibition football from Saudi Sportswashing Machine. Keeping the ball in defense for about 5 minutes when 6-0 down.

Luckily for them Villa and Wigan play each other last game of the season (and there's no way Wigan will get anything at Arsenal either). They'll stay up by default.

Depends on what Villa on Monday and at Norwich. Could possibly get 4pts from those 2 games (=38pts)

Wigan have Swansea and Villa at home to come. 2 wins = 38pts

Saudi Sportswashing Machine have visits to West Ham and QPR to come, they could quite easily still be on 37pts going into the last day, they are right in the mix after today

McCarthy only works up to a certain level and can't be trusted in the transfer market when you're spending big IMO, but relegation this season is down to the players.

So much for all this teams having nothing to play for flimflam that being going on in this thread and the predict the run thread for the last few weeks.
Saudi Sportswashing Machine should have been up for this and Liverpool should have been on the beach by popular logic.

Swansea HAVE been on the beach for over a month now, so I'm expecting nothing less than at least a 2-goal win for Chelscum tomorrow.

Thats turned out a good result for us. If Wigan beat Swansea at home and with their GD now equal, Newacstle may not be able to gamble on just getting a point on the last day to stay up.

Last day might not just be a straight shooutout between Villa and Wigan anymore
