O/T Manager Sack Watch

Was always going to set them back, fudging dreadful appointment. Wouldn't be surprised if they went back for Mclaren. Bellends.

he did a good job at Hibs and for quite a while at Rangers as well

Also won Birmingham only their second ever trophy - and, really, their first proper one since the League Cup back in 1963 was rated by the big clubs as even less important than it is now.

I don't rate him but if I someone took a job in December you would think that you could expect be able to sign some players in January, if the owners didn't back you then they only have themselves to blame if the manager walks! They've basically set themselves back another 6 months until the summer window opens again and the new manager (whoever is stupid enough to take it) can bring in who HE wants (and that's only if they back him)

The trouble is that there are far too many wealthy businessmen from other countries who have made their fortunes from oil, chicken etc who want to enhance their profiles, egos etc with buying an EPL club without knowing the first thing about the game, the managers and players.

Adkins no?

I would

Showed that he can get a team to play decent football, experience getting teams promoted, up and coming manager. Would probably accept a job like that, would probably enjoy having a bit of money to spend, something their owners have indicated might happen. That would make a lot of sense.

So, not going to happen :)

Forest have appointed Billy Davies as their new manager, less than two years since he was sacked by the previous owners.

Oh, that will be fun to watch. Agressive, intensely abrasive manager used to getting things his own way meets impatient, reckless, somewhat inept board with a tendency to make unnecessarily quick decisions and false promises.

It's either a recipe for utter disaster or one of the greatest decisions they could have made. Because sacking an opinionated manager and hiring a 'yes man' didn't do Venky's any favours.

Could that have something to do with Di Canio being most West Ham supporters' favourite,
while there's an Allardyce to Villa thread on kumb?
Allardyce yet to be offered a new contract at Hammers

seems like good timing given Warnock was giving it all about leaving in the press this morning.... Di Canio to Leeds anyone?
