Really hope that this one goes ahead. We dont need fixture congestion later in the season and Leicester are brick at the moment.
Tottenham vs Leicester at risk of postponement as Premier League make huge call on RMT strikes
Rail, Maritime and Transport workers are set to hold industrial action on September 17th as Tottenham host Leicester City
Tottenham's Premier League fixture against Leicester City could be postponed with Rail, Maritime and Transport workers set to strike on Saturday, September 17th.
Football fans across the country are set to face difficulty in travelling to watch their teams play with planned railway industrial action set to leave train services in short supply. The Premier League have already taken action by postponing Crystal Palace's game against Brighton on the same day as Spurs host Leicester at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Postponements to Premier League fixtures could throw an already packed schedule into further chaos due to the 2022 World Cup kicking off in late November. No decision has been taken by the Premier League yet regarding Spurs' games against the Foxes, but with no rail services set to be available, it could leave supporters without an option of commuting to the game.
A statement from the Premier League following the announcement that the game between Crystal Palace and Brighton will be postponed read: "Following a request to the Premier League Board by Brighton and Hove Albion F.C, the club’s home fixture against Crystal Palace F.C, due to be played at 15:00 BST on Saturday, 17th September, has been regrettably postponed. The decision follows exceptional circumstances relating to the planned industrial action on the rail network, with authorities unable to sanction the fixture to be played with no public transport available for supporters.
"The Premier League has consulted with both clubs, police, the SAG for Brighton & Hove City Council and other relevant authorities in exploring alternative plans but all have agreed there was no other option but to postpone the fixture. A new date for the rescheduled match will be announced in due course."
The following information is available on the National Rail website: "Due to industrial action, there will be an extremely limited service running on the rail network on Thursday 15 and Saturday 17 September, so please only travel by train if your journey is absolutely necessary. Further strike action will cause disruption to some parts of the rail network on Monday 26 and Tuesday 27 September. If you are travelling, plan ahead and check before you travel.
"The rail industry is currently working on implementing its contingency plans to minimise customer disruption as much as possible."
With Tottenham playing at home, Spurs fans aren't likely to be affected by the strikes but it could still see the game postponed with Leicester supporters needing to find alternative transport to north London.

Difference is that was a 12.30pm kick off and wasn't a national strike
This is a national strike so trains will only run across the country between 8am and 5pm

"There is no obligation to cancel or postpone events and sporting fixtures, or close entertainment venues during the National Mourning period. This is at the discretion of individual organisations. As a mark of respect, organisations might wish to consider cancelling or postponing events or closing venues on the day of the State Funeral. They are under no obligation to do so and this is entirely at the discretion of individual organisations. If sporting fixtures or events are planned for the day of the State Funeral, organisations may want to adjust the event timings so they do not clash with the timings of the funeral service and associated processions. As a mark of respect, and in keeping with the tone of National Mourning, organisers may wish to hold a period of silence and/or play the National Anthem at the start of events or sporting fixtures, and players may wish to wear black armbands."
