Labour pretty much bankrupted us, the Coalition has got us out of a massive massive hole, why on earth would anybody want the red twunts back to **** it up again

Because that's UK politics - it's been going on since the beginning.

That lot fvck the country up, the conservatives fix it. Then they get voted back in and screw everything up again. That's the cycle our political system seems to be forever stuck in.

I briefly though Blair would be the one to break the cycle, but he just turned out to be a trot in sheep's clothing.

exactly, we're too stupid to realise that the medicine is working

even now you get people marching against austerity despite how far out of the whole it's dragged us

In less then 12 months Ed Balls will be in charge of the economy.

That is a bigger issue to me then the fact that the other ed looks odd eating a bacon sandwich.

I wonder whether they would have even taken issue with the recent demand from the EU for more money from us, not because our economy grew under the tories but because we made some cuts and took a little of the medicine required while other countries did not. If people think ed can stand up for the British tax payers interests then they should vote for him.

Not only would we have paid it immediately, we'd probably have overpaid and have done so in Euros.

I I can't dance, I would even suggest that the EU will bring forward the budgets for the future while Labour are back in power so as to bind us to paying ever more for ever more.

Yep. Labour are the sole reason a global economic crash happened.

I'm not a Labour supporter but that's a ridiculous thing to think. Mind you this whole thread is macaronic so I guess you choose the right place.

Blair a trot!

Not what Maggie thought...he was one of her own.

Far from it - raised taxes all over the place, just used stealth ones so the dumb didn't notice. Largely responsible for massive expansion of the nanny state.

Just because he spoke intelligently and dressed well doesn't mean he wasn't one of that lot.

Blair a Trot; that's why when Thatcher was asked what her greatest achievement was she replied "Tony Blair and New Labour."

You are so right-wing that you may have lost all sense of reality. I'll go with Thatcher's assessment rather than "Blair the Trot."

Then again, perhaps Thatcher was a Trot too:

http://economix.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/07/05/the-legend-of-margaret-thatcher/?_r=0

...taxes as a share of the gross domestic product in Britain actually increased sharply during Mrs. Thatcher’s first seven years in office before falling in the later years. Even at the end, they were significantly higher than they were when she took office. Spending also rose during her first seven years before falling in Mrs. Thatcher’s later years.

When will they actually get some real capitalist politicians who will have people working for 2p an hour (flexible and competitive in the ever changing global environment) without burdening the wealth creators with any taxes whatsoever? All these Trots like Blair and Thatcher ruining things for ordinary, decent, rich people.

Scara, having admitted yourself that you have read no work of socialism, can you please tell me how in any way Tony Blairs ideas are connected to Leon Trotsky's ? I would love to hear this.

Face it,you are going to lose another election.

So good to read all the character assassination of Ed, shows just how desperate the Tories are. The UKIP are doing a good job by draining votes that will be essential in delivering Labour majorities in marginal seats and Scara will have five years to enjoy Labour rule once again. :eek:k:

Just corrected it slightly... we are still deep in the woods, and have just picked up a faint glimpse of light through the trees. If Balls-up and his ilk get back in we are well and truly ****ed bearing in mind they don't have a clue what the difference is between debt and deficit, and still believe there is a magic money tree that lives in the same deep dark wood that funds their precious public sector client state!

Thankfully I fear you may be mistaken. Come polling day I think a large enough number of people will choose with their head, and not vote for labour again.

Voting for a party whose spending pushed borrowing last month to £11.8bn, £1.6bn higher than September 2013 and £1bn higher than City forecasts, smacks of voting with your head.

This is the government that has seen wages stagnate at the same time.
