I think he'll be the next to go in the PL. Adkins and McDermott deserve to see out the season, firing them is lunacy and will only destroy all the work that's been put in at their clubs.

I quite like him. He was always willing to stand up to Fergie and Jose, which was usually entertaining (although not always for him). He also had to deal with Hicks and Gillet. After that, going to Chelsea seems crazy but he will be well paid and knew what he was getting into.
He always seemed to hate Chelsea so perhaps this is the ultimate revenge (I would so like to believe this).

Chelsea boss Rafael Benitez insists his side will set their sights on winning the Europa League after an ignominious exit from the Champions League.
Chelsea became the first Champions League holders to be eliminated at the group stage despite an emphatic 6-1 victory, their first under Benitez.
"We think it is an important competition," Benitez said. "We want to go as far as we can.
"If we can win the competition that is what we will try to do."
Chelsea may have thrashed Danish champions Nordsjaelland at Stamford Bridge but Juventus's 1-0 win over Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukraine condemned them to third in Group E because of the Blues' head-to-head results against the Ukrainian champions, with whom they finished level on 10 points.
It means the European champions must play in the continent's second-tier competition, just seven months after lifting the Champions League trophy in Munich. Benitez insists it can still be a worthwhile competition for his squad.
"The Europa League is not important when you can't win it," he added. "When you are in the semi-final or final everybody wants to win it. Every competition is important to us and we will try to win it if we can."
The Spaniard's disappointment at Chelsea's failure to reach the last 16 was at least eased by the manner of the victory, which included two goals for struggling striker Fernando Torres, David Luiz, Gary Cahill, Juan Mata and Oscar also chipping in.
"It is always important to win but the way you win is also important and we won with attitude, character, commitment, intensity and good play," Benitez said. "It was everything you are looking for and I was pleased for the club, the fans, everyone."
Benitez said he was also satisfied with Torres's performance, adding: "He showed his desire and his quality. If we play at that level he will score more goals. The team was playing well and if we play well he will score goals.
"I was watching him training and he was very, very sharp with more confidence."
Benitez was once again booed by a large section of Chelsea fans, despite delivering the club's first win in any competition for a month.
"Can we change the situation? No. So we have to think about what we can change, which is improving and be ready for the next challenge. The game was out of our hands. I said before that we had to do our job and as a manager, you have to be really pleased with the performance of the team.
"There were 32 attempts, 18 on target, six goals, a lot of clear chances, so you have to think about the positives after this performance."
Chelsea's exit completes a disappointing Champions League group campaign for the Premier League, with two English clubs falling at the first hurdle for the second successive season. Arsenal and Manchester United will be the Premier League's only representatives in the draw for the knockout stages on 20 December.

That quote is classic. Hint; Hazard's not the only true **** at Chelsea Football Club. John Terry, Roman Abramovich, Ashley Cole, Frank Lampard, Ron Gourlay, the racists in the stands, the firms in the pubs.......
But no, it's 'we know what we are Champions of Europe' every time. It sometimes vexes me about football that tribalism masks almost everything that is wrong with a club's actions. The fans will defend it to the death, regardless of what it does, every single time. It's not just Chelsea; we'd do it too, and only the truly saintly will deny it.
If we bought ****s like that, had an owner like that, threatened referees like that, created controversies like that......I'd like to say I'd be conscientious and abandon the club I love, but I know I won't. I'll be around ,defending what we do, and excusing what we do. I'd justify it to myself by saying it's because of the memory of what the club used to be, but I'd be lying. Because the only thing that would change is that it would be me doing the defending, and other clubs' fans doing the pointing and laughing.
This tribalism is what has electrified and simultaneously irrevocably damaged football. It has given it a passion unrivalled by other sports, but it has made otherwise decent people do things and excuse things they normally would never consider doing themselves, and gives the real ****s of society, the racists and the hooligans, the blanket approval they feel justifies them in some way.
Short of outright racism and abuse,because I believe there are some things most Spurs fans will never countenance... there's little that Chelsea fans do that we wouldn't also do.
And to be honest, Sol Campbell and Arsene Wenger would beg to disagree with the first part of the last sentence anyway.
And so we fall to the lowest common defense; we're not the only ones, and we're by far the least offensive of the lot. Only, every club's fans think that.
Will this change? I don't know. And to be honest, it scares me that I don't know if I want it to change or not.
