OMT ***Tottenham Hotspur v Real Madrid***

.... and not forgetting the Goals prevented numbers from last night

Haary Kane - 0
Ronaldo - 1 ...... during the grand melee in our 6yd box

Cristiano Ronaldo claims Tottenham didn't deserve to beat Real Madrid at Wembley as galacticos' poor run continues
“Irritated on the pitch? It’s normal. When you’re losing, things don’t go the way you want them to and you want to help your teammates,
“It was a very big blow to go 3-0 down, although for me it wasn’t a good reflection of what happened on the pitch.
“Their first goal was offside, just like the other day. Our attitude is to run and fight, like it was at Girona.”

Almost 24 hours after the game and I'm still buzzing.
Not posted in this thread because tbh I don't know what to say.
None of the usual superlatives seem adequate.

Been getting texts and calls all day from people asking me about the game, even 2 mates that never mention spurs unless we have a poor result, one texted and the other came into my work and was saying how great we'd been.

COYS

And we were missing both our first choice midfielders, left back and for 3/4 of the game one of the best CBs in Europe. So your point is?
Some people are trying to insinuate that we beat a weakened Madrid team in a bad run of form. True. But they also still have so much attacking talent and a long tradition of a winning mentality. We comfortably beat Real Madrid. End of.

I know what you mean. The buzz is still there.
I’ve been wandering around the house this evening humming (and maybe sometimes singing, perhaps not always very quietly) “being a yid...”..
Apparently it is quite annoying. Or so I have been told.

However, 83,000 can't be right. Apart from the big gap (maybe 600?) in the away blocks, there were only a few individual seats here and there.

Listening to a few who only got in around half-time due to some big rooster-up with paper tickets, they reckoned there were many in the same position.
Just one thought. I see that the crowd was announced as 83,700 although it seemed larger than our record crowd against Bayer Leverkusen last year. Apart from a small section next to the Real supporters there were very few empty seats around.

The 'low' (!!!) official attendance figure was a major surprise considering. We know for sure the club sold out the home allocation, I think I read somewhere it was 80k.

However for Euro games there are always half a dozen rows screened off immediately behind both goals. That would probably account for 2k more than for PL games. Then in addition to the usual segregation around the away end, a large additional segment - several rows - were also screened off all along the front of the upper tier immediately above them. Because they're covered over with black material they can easily be overlooked. Were these also screened off for the Leverkusen game last year? Not sure but don't think so.

Plus there was a big chunk of empty red seats inside the away section. And a couple of hundred more above one of the video screens. Finally do we know whether all the exec boxes were sold out?

So far from the 90k, maybe last night's available capacity was actually less than 85k?
