Totally agree with this. The only difference being I couldnt get to sleep until 3.30am I was that devastated.
A week ago I only thought we had a sniff. After seeing them at United I felt we might do this. On the tube from Stanmore a Chelsea fan shouts over and says have we seen the team news and tells me Hazard isnt starting, from that moment I thought we were going to win. At 2-2 and 60mins I was convinced, and within 10 mins the dream fell apart.

Depressing result but not really surprised by this. We have never been convincing in any Cup matches under Pochettino and this result is hardly surprising. We have been very fortunate to avoid any PL teams in the FA Cup this season until this semi final. Remember, we almost lost to Wycombe at home in Round 4. And we have now lost to the first PL team we faced in the FA Cup this season. It is annoying that we lost to our league rivals Chelsea. But the most annoying thing is we have now lost 7 consecutive FA Cup semi finals since last winning it in 1991. Losing yet another semi final has done great unjustice to future Spurs teams who will be mentally affected by this semi final jinx. Maybe, as usual, we will only win the FA Cup when the year ends in "1". So we might as well avoid participating in the FA Cup until 2021 !
Pochettino has to take large part of the blame for this defeat. I think he chose the wrong formation and players at crucial times. We started and finished this match very poorly. In between, we played well but couldn't make use of our domination.
I think Pochettino made a big blunder by bringing on Walker and Nkoudou in the second half. We were in total control then with the score at 2-2. But
we conceded the 3rd goal after Walker replaced Son and gave away the 4th goal after Nkoudou replaced Wanyama. Not sure why he brought on Nkoudou who has hardly played for us this season. The fact the Chelsea midfielder scored their 4th goal after Wanyama was replaced proves it was a big blunder by Pochettino. We were still in the game even after they scored their 3rd goal.
Credit to Kane and Alli for scoring our goals. But thought they were poor apart from scoring the goals. Kane took his goal well with a briiliant header but went missing for most of the match. Kane was unlucky not to score from the freekick in the last minute but by then it was too late. Alli scored a brilliant goal as well but was ineffective before and after that goal. I think Eriksen was our best player as he assisted both our goals with inch perfect crosses. But Eriksen also wasted 1 good chance to score in the first half.
This must be one of the worst defensive display by a Spurs team in a Cup semi final and among the worst under Pochettino. Chelsea didn't have many goal scoring chances but they looked like scoring each time they attacked. It seemed like our defence were in panic mood every time Chelsea had the ball near our goal. Even Alderweireld was not his usual self as he gave away the freekick from which they scored their first goal. Thought Lloris should have covered better for the freekick. It was a stupid penalty to give away by Son for their second goal. This is why I don't like our attacking players defending near our goal. Annoyingly, our entire defence went missing for their 3rd and 4th goal.
Thought we would beat Chelsea and go on to win the FA Cup after not winning it since 1991. But really disappointed we failed to do that. I had a dream we would score 2 goals but never thought we would concede 4 ! It is clear we are still jinxed in the FA Cup ever since Levy sacked George Graham before the FA Cup semi final in 2001. Maybe we should have kept the Cup magician Ramos beyond 2009 to help us break the jinx. Now it seems like we have to wait until 2021 to win the FA Cup !

My thoughts.
1. Poch got it wrong with Sonny. All week nearly everyone thought it was a choice between Victor and Son. (Not withstanding issues we are not aware of) this smells of accomadating players. Accommodating players very rarely works out in football.
I doubt Davies Verts etc would have made that tackle on Moses. It was naive. It happened in front of me and 3 secs before it happened you could see what was coming and the likely consequences.
What people are forgetting is how much the LWB role detracted from Sonnys attacking game. His game is to try and run them ragged at their end of the pitch. You could see his mind set wasn't that yesterday.
2. Anyone who said Conte schooled Poch yesterday is talking nonsense. All my Chelsea mates were blowing up about his team selection. It's like Poch benching Kane/Alli. Plus it's quite easy to bring on world class players from the bench when you haven't started them in the first place.
3. We haven't got enough decent refs for these big clashes. You have to ref on what you see...not thinking you might spoil the game/spectical.
4. Both teams basically scored all the chances that came their way. We scored two fantastic goals. Chelsea weren't lucky, they scored 3 goals that were barely half chances, so fair play. The penalty was avoidable and came at a bad time.
5. The team didn't let us down yesterday, we were the better team. Chelsea had a day where things just went in for them. Moose and Eriksen were terrific. Psychologically it's a blow but I feel this team can shake it by Wednesday and go again at Selhurst Park.
6. If Poch was trying to accommodate players, that surprises me with him. I'd be sure he'd go with what we know (inc Walker ) and with the normal options of changing up from the bench. That one selection kinda killed all that.
7. F uck wembley. Going there every other week next season is not something I'm looking forward to.
Will we struggle there? Perhaps BUT I'm sure our home record won't read 17-2-0 next season .....so even a 'good' season might be 10/12 pts down on this year.

You don't need contact for a freekick (or penalty) to be awarded, that's just something clueless pundits keep saying. The player was impeded. He added a marvellous dive, but that doesn't make that foul go away.

I agree with a lot of that.
Some reports from Lyall Thomas that Davies had a knock, hence Son starting there.
Of course, we could have started Walker right with Trippier left, or brought in Wimmer and moved Jan to LWB.
But all those options also have their downside.
Unfortunately Don's attacking threat was nullified and his lack of defensive nous exposed.
Whatever the reason, I'm certain Poch will learn from it.

The ref made NO big decisions. That was the problem
He didn't give then pen, the Lino did as the ref had a great view and didn't think it was IMO
He didn't book Kante until the 88th minute - bottle job as he had made 8 fouls before then (Alli got booked after 1 but it was in the half way line so easy call)
The free kick for their goal was a clear card on Toby
Willian should have at least been carded for standing on Victor (BBC highlighted thi but no mention anywhere) aunt 55 minutes
That was the same weak ref that gave them Matas goal that never was and eh should never have been given that game IMO as he has shown how weak he is

Well he did, the tone was for Chelsea bias
He wasn't impeded at all.
He made it abundantly clear with the dive that avoiding Son was no impediment to his progress. It was a dive, no more no less.
That doesn't excuse Son. You don't give the opponent the opportunity to dive, especially not against Chelsea who have been drilled in that for over a decade.

we learned a long time ago we have to beat the refs too (and we can't ignore the fact he made two shocking decisions in our favour), i'd have wanted that penalty had roles been reversed
biggest factor for me was the confidence drop from the players, we didn't have the assuredness, especially at the back, that we normally start games with, the occasion had obviously got to them which suggests to me a deficiency in mental preparation, panic was evident for one of the few times this season
the selection was fine, Son will have been running those routes all week in training, and as I said when it happened there was no excuse for the tackle, in modern football you have 11 defenders and 11 attackers, everyone needs to be smart and effective on both sides of the ball
chelsea's bench only looked better because they left their Kane, Eriksen & Alli out of the starting line up, we could easily have matched that and still made an argument of a stronger starting 11
again, i'm repeating myself, but, we had the ball on the edge of their box for about an hour, courtois had to make what, 1 save (from Kane's FK)

The Wembley pitch is four metres wider than WHL and at a pitch length of 100 metres, that's 400m2.
Perhaps playing a defensive game with the long ball into the open spaces is the way to go - Chelsea and Conte seemed to think so. I'm certain we will see them adopt the same tactics in the final.

I was sitting right above the linesman. And I'm sure I never saw him give it (don't they put the flag across there chest as a signal?)...did the tv replays show who gave it. I know the ref took a long time.
I'm easy about it anyway. It was a pen (even if Moses fell over), the naive invite was there. You take advantage of that if you're a Spurs player, Chelsea player or a Sunday league player. The poor decision was by Son who was quite probably put in that position by a poor decision by Poch.
We'll have to get used to it. Our new pitch will be full size too.

Strange game yesterday. We looked in full control for most of the match, but got suckerpunched twice in the second half. We didn't create enough though, and didn't look to click 100% up front as we have lately. But to think we conceded 4 goals yesterday is just mad. Where the hell did those come from?
Ref was brick, but aren't they always when you lose?
Very disappointed, but in these types of games margins and luck decides. It's not down to us being the inferior team. Hopefully the team won't be too deflated and can drum up one hell of a performance at palace.

I don't think he did give us two.
Dembele was being blocked off the ball - if he hadn't got the ball then he should have been given a free kick.
The other was clearly handball but i don't think the ref bottled it or got it wrong, he just couldn't see from his angle. It took the BBC two replays to find the angle from which it was clear, with Hugo facing the wrong way it's just too difficult to see.
