Son Heung-Min Signs - Official

Sign Son. Then go and sign Ki for the DM position (lad's got a good pass from deep on him as well). Get LG or Samsung in as our naming rights/shirt sponsor.

Then, simply bask in the adoration of Korea forevermore. Go on, Levy: finish what Lee Young-Pyo started. :p

Nice one Dubai....where you been you missed all the excitement earlier until we realised we were serious about signing him and then started writing him off before he even arrives!

Seems logical that Lamela wants out, so we've gone after Song. Still fully expect to see Berahino on deadline day.

On an A320, and then an A380 for the past 16 hours :p . Was maddeningly rooster-teased when I used the stuttering onboard wifi - Newsnow half-loaded, and the top headline was something about a Bundesliga striker undergoing a medical for 22 million quid. However, opening that link took ten or so minutes, and just as it was about to finish loading the damn plane entered Chinese airspace and the wifi was switched off (because apparently they don't allow it there). Was left staring wild-eyed at a blank page on my phone for the next four hours. Drove the flight attendant mad asking her to switch it back on -she actually ended up giving me free champagne just to shut me up. :p

Either way, I'm pleased. Son's a good player from what little I've seen of him, and it isn't like we're cheaping out over Berahino to the extent that we did with Schneiderlin/Stambo - if true, the reported fees are only 2-3 million quid apart, after all. :)

Cool, well we shall have to see but some see Berahino as a goer still as Son fits the bill of the winger we need, wheras Saido is the striker we are looking for.

I personally dont have a good feeling that we will get Saido in but I hope that I am wrong.

And also I wouldnt say no to Ki either!

Hey, I'd love it if we went for both: the more good players we bring in, the happier I'll be, and we could certainly use both. However, I just don't think it's feasible, really: we're currently sitting on a profit of some 16-odd million quid in the market, which I expect will rise to about 30-35 million quid before the window closes (with the likely exits of Fazio, Lamela (if Son arrives) Lennon and Carroll (one year left on his contract)). I can't see us stretching to a DM, Son AND Berahino with that amount, especially when both Son and Berahino feel more comfortable cutting in from the left than from the right (even if Saido can also lead the line).

The prospect of them both coming, however, is still tempting as all hell, believe me. :D

I wonder if VdV had a few good things to say about us and that has helped things along. The two of them worked well together for a while in Germany

I watched a lot of Son during the Asian cup and I have to say he was underwhelming to say the least.. This was playing against generally brick opposition too.

If you're frustrated by Lamela then Son will be even more maddening and he won't put in anywhere near the amount of effort that Erik does defensively.

I worry that he will just be the next victim slapped onto the ever-ruthless meat cleaver lined conveyor belt that is the 'Token Tottenham spacegoat.' He'll then be shipped out bloodied, beaten and a shell of a player the season following. Rinse and repeat.. That's if we actually manage to sign him.
