Re: Sky Sports Liverpool Edition

Hang on.

How the fudge are we going to understand anything Carra says?

:-k

Re: Sky Sports Liverpool Edition

he's not even retired yet and he's the size of redknapp and neville combined

Re: Sky Sports Liverpool Edition

They could simply promote Phil Thompson from the panel on SSN, but him and Merson are perfect for that kind of stuff. Easily excitable.

Re: Sky Sports Liverpool Edition

Bollox to that. The other three I can listen to but I'd rather go to the dentist than listen to Carragher.

Re: Sky Sports Liverpool Edition

Surprised they haven't gone after golden boy Michael Owen. What are they going to do when they can't publish stories every other week about him nearing a comeback and how he would love to play for England again?

Re: Sky Sports Liverpool Edition

You'd think they would have learned on Soccer Saturday when Phil Thompson can't give an update on the game he's supposed to be watching because he was looking at the Liverpool match on Matt Le Tissier's screen

Re: Sky Sports Liverpool Edition

Gary Neville has surprised me.. he educates in his analysis

There was a thread very similar to this for when it was announced that Neville was joining Sky.. I too was against it. Got to hold my hands up and say fair play to Sky, they got Neville right, many were wrong.

I agree about Carragher though.. he is a bit Adebayor in trying to understand what he is actually saying. Wasn't there subtitles on the recent Liverpool fly on the wall series.

Spanish accents are easy to understand and Brazilian is a walk in the park – but when it comes to Scousers our American friends have no idea what’s going on after
Jamie Carragher had to be subtitled for TV documentary Being: Liverpool.

The new documentary has been offering British and American viewers a behind-the-scenes insight into life at Anfield.

But those in the USA struggling with the Scouse accent are now being given a helping hand, with the producers adding subtitles when Liverpool-born Jamie Carragher speaks.

Producers feared the American audience would not understand the defender’s thick accent – despite the likes of Spaniard Pepe Reina and Brazilian Lucas Leiva speaking without the added visual aid.

A spokesman for Channel 5, which broadcasts the show in the UK, said: ‘The subtitles will be left in because we broadcast the show in the same format as in the US.’

The programme has been criticised by Liverpool legend Mark Lawrenson, who said other clubs ‘must be having a right old laugh’ at their expense
