Ratings v Inter

I'll say it again - he gave the ball away EVERY single time he had it. He was Inter's ball winner tonight.

No just no. I'm not Defoe's biggest fan, he's decent but we could do better.

But in tonight's game other than a couple of greedy instances Defoe showed how better our attacking play looked with a striker who was willing to run and put himself about. For a guy that hasn't played for weeks his performance tonight was good and his work from the front helped us keep and reclaim possession, something we've been lacking of recent weeks.

Defoe played well tonight, looks gagging to get himself back on the score sheet and i fancy him to score the winner on Sunday

I'm just in from the game, and I've got to say, I'm astounded at some of the ratings/comments.

My 15 year old son was gobsmacked at how well we played, as a TEAM. And to perform like that as a team, each player has to be performing at the top of THEIR game. And I think we pretty much saw that tonight.

Whoever said bale and Siggy had quiet games.........................good grief.

Whoever said about Dembele and Parker giving the ball away?................good grief.

And as for the Defoe comment Gutter Boy........................OMG!!!!!!

Everyone around me where I was sat in block 23 thought Defoes hold up play was superb tonight. We thought Parker was MoM, and Siggy had his best game yet.
Seriously guys, some of you posting ratings need to get a better stream.

We have just made Inter look like a 2nd division team. Think about this.

Its embarrassing isn't it... we were class all over the pitch against INTER MILAN?? The whole stadium was buzzing and i havnt enjoyed being at the lane so much all season. Yes i LOVED the arse game but i was bricking myself for 90mins,today it was a pleasure as we utterly dominated them, if it looked any different on the box then tough the box lied!!!
As for gutter boy desperately posting nonsense like some kid who just absolutely hates that boy in my class called jermain. Mate you are showing your self up massively.
Funny thing is i forget how irrational you are untill you talk about defoe.

Exactly this, we completely dominated one of the great European sides

People really are getting to be spoilt little girls on this forum, what more do people expect?

Brad - 6.5 - kept a clean sheet, some sloppy distribution

Walker - 7 - solid
Verts - 8 - motm
Gallas - 7 - worker very hard
BAE - 6 - ok

Lennon - 7 - constant threat
Dembele - 8 - superb movement throughout
Parker - 7 - great defensive shift
Bale - 8- never stopped running

Sig - 7 - grabbed a goal, tried hard
Defoe - 5 - wasteful

Livermore - 6 - decent

Generally agree, except Defoe was a 5 for me.

He actually gave the ball away every single time he had it. Ade always clocks up about 70 odd passes. Defoe didn't have one.

His decision making was attrocious

Although general movement and work-rate were very good, imv

I agree with every word of that. I was in the east upper last night and had a really good view of how the team was set up and their movement and off the ball work. Everyone busted a gut for the team, we were really impressive.

Parker put in a good attacking shift too and used the ball really well.

It was a great night's work made tougher in the last 20 mins by the fact Milan just about gave up and turneditinto practice. AVB was smart with his subs. That first half was sensational. Agree with Parker and Sig, thought Moussa was immense too. Agree with whoever said people are spoilt.

There was one passage, soon after the third, where we swarmed them in possession by the Shelf touch line. It was pure, unadulterated energy. It is one of my favorite moments of the season, and proof to me that this club is being manged by someone with some special skill-sets.

I said to the misses just before half time that we really looked like the team of last season. (before the bottle job)

Friedel - 7 distribution wayward at times.
Walker - 7.5 good, he times his runs so much better now.
Gallas - 7.5 good read it well.
Vertonghen - 8.5 good, with an extra point for his goal, also bossed it at the back.
BAE - 7. I thought Benny looked bored at times, lol.
Lennon - 7.5 lively, the number of times he is in space and we dont use him is criminal.
Parker - 9 Superb MOM for me.
Dembele - 8 good player.
Sig' - 8. worked hard and played intelligently.
Bale - 7 the position he plays now it is impossible for teams to pick him up, world class player ? definately yes.
Defoe - 6.5 looked sharp worked hard but totally brain dead, thought he showed his pace last night, still very quick.

Whatever way you look at it Defoe was awful last night....

That's rather harsh - Defoe looked sharp and gave us options up front.

He was unlucky not to get on the score-sheet himself and made a major contribution for Sigurdsson's goal.

Felt a bit sorry for Holtby last night, did anyone notice at one point he got the ball wide out on the left, looked up and there was absolutely no-one in the final third and only Bale behind him.. He hesitated for a split second as if to say "wtf is this!?" and then just knocked it back and thought sod this and went up front in to the acres of empty space lol

It must've been frustrating given how everyone was busting a gut in the 1st half then by the time he came on the game was pretty much dead.

Still, I guess that's part of the game and hopefully he will get another chance to start a game and show what he's got soon, much the same as Siggy was able to last night.

Sorry fella, for the reasons stated above, that is just wrong.

No nasty agenda here, but were you at the game, or are you basing this on TV pics?

Because it seems those who were there have the positive view of his performance, and those at home have the negative.

But as I said, not knocking being at home, because i certainly don't get to games that much.
