AVB confirms Defoe out England squad. Could be 2-3 weeks out. Q: Do you regret not buying a striker in January? AVB: 'No, not at all'

We have Saudi Sportswashing Machine Saturday at home. Then two weeks off before West Ham away on a Monday.

Lots of time to get Ade back and in sync, maybe get Defoe healthy.

Well I can't imagine him saying 'well of course i do, we made a monumental phuq up not doing so'

Its not 2 weeks of though, we have 2 games against Lyon don't forget.

Ade could well be back for next week though, Togo play tonight and assume semi would be in the week sometime so maybe bench for Saudi Sportswashing Machine depending on jetlag/if Togo get knocked out.

Not much fussed about this. Nice trophy to win, but definitely a luxury item. Takes a distant backseat to finishing in top four domestically.
Maybe time to give Obika a run out or work on tiki-taka 4-6 formation.

I look at some of the posts on this thread and it makes me shudder..

Slagging off a win, brilliant..

Short memory syndrome...

I actually think a lot on here want us to lose every week just so they can have a win, why not go and pretend to support a different club you twunts

Obviously people are pleased with 3 points, but we all want to improve and play well so we have more chance of winning the next game, and the next, and the next.

If we keep playing such laboured football, I don't think we'll get fourth place.

In the first half we had Bale in the middle, Dempsey kinda left, kinda nowhere, and had ZERO shots on target.

Once they had a man sent off for non-footballing reasons, we dominated.

It was not a good performance - time and again we had no obvious system - when we got wide we lofted balls way over everyone's head about 30 times, rather than firing it in hard and low.

Holtby looked intelligent and a very good signing, that is the best news all day.

If Togo win tonight, there is no chance of Ade being back for Saudi Sportswashing Machine.

ANC has a bronze medal match on saturday, so even if Togo loses a potential semifinal on wednesday, they still have one more game.

3 points, unbeaten run continues, clean sheet......West Brom 10 men helped a lot

think we will regret not buying a striker though.

For me we looked like we had a team that can dominate possession, defend well (Dawson has been outstanding) but are toothless upfront.
People can argue all day about what Levy has achieved at Spurs, sadly we haven't strengthened up front yet again and it may cost us.

So, what is the latest on the Defoe injury, and when are the earliest and latest games that Ade can be back?

Not feeling confident about getting a win against Saudi Sportswashing Machine with no striker or just Dempsey upfront. Or West Ham for that matter. I would actually feel better if we gave Kane a shot.

Togo play later today, if they lose Ade will be back for our next game against Saudi Sportswashing Machine.
Even if Togo and Ade go to the final Saudi Sportswashing Machine should be the only game he can potentially miss.
Final is february 10th, Saudi Sportswashing Machine is 9th, next is UEFA against Lyon on 14th.
Not taking into consideration 2 weeks of booze and celebration should they win the whole tournament

I'll take any (and all) abuse for what I'm about to say...

Some people here need to grow up.
This isn't FIFA '13 and it isn't fantasy football.
It's the fudging premiership, and you deal with what you deal with.
Two thirds OF OUR SPINE IS NOT ON THE fudging PITCH!!!!!!!!! We are not missing minor players, we are missing a few BIG ONES.
We pull our socks up after a slow start, we put the vice-grip on the game, we wrestle control, we slowly apply pressure, an idiot pops and gets sent-off and we continue to wrest control.
We win precisely the sort of game we would've drawn or even lost in seasons gone by, we overcome more misfortune, yet there are people complaining.
Jesus fudging Christ, I am so delighted this football team doesn't have the thing dainty skin (or lack of balls) that some of you do; we'd turn around, hand our 4 point advantage to the junior dippers, tell Chavski to stop getting nervous and slink off to mid-table for a paycheck and a jolly.

It's pathetic.

Thank christ for the (as usual) SUPERB away support.

Oh, and to whoever it was that said 'Bale won't get us out of the brick every week', take a look at Man Utd and Robin van Persie. They don't complain where it comes from, they just take it. Without him they'd be way way off the title...

I absolutely agree with Marky. And before some Dudley Do-Right waffles on about 'we're entitled to criticize' well yes, you are, but only if you can apply context to your criticism!!!
I have yet to see it.

Come on you fudging GUTSY, GREAT SPURS!
