*** Tottenham Hotspur Vs Liverpool OMT ***

Still begs the question, why isn't AVB sorting it?

Because we lost 3 of our 4 best players this summer, have had quite a few injuries this and we're trying to get used to a new style and way of playing without the likes of Modric and VDV.

Having said this, AVB has made some strange decisions and we as a group need to improve. Practicing 5 yard passing would be a good start.

None were clear. But Gallas on Saurez was a penalty, the angle of the ref though it does look like Gallas got a nick on the ball as it went in the direction his foot was at. Dembele on Gerrard I imagine is the other but that was a top tackle.

Total Shots: 16-17
On Target: 7-5
Off Target: 7-5
Hit Woodwork: 0-0
Blocked: 2-7

Offsides: 0-1
Corners: 1-12
Throw ins: 23-29
Dribbles: 8-14
Tackles: 37-18
Fouls: 8-18
Pass Success: 77%-84%
Aerial Success: 44%-56%
Possession: 35%-65%

Liverpool are brick at tackling

And?
Getting a higher % of wins than last season during the second half would be a cakewalk based on this sort of thinking :-"

Exactly. The only thing that matters is where we are after 38 games. This is a bloody good Spurs team though and should be top five. I don't think we're top four standard, but then again I don't think we were the last three seasons either.

I remember a 2-1 win over the dippers at home one november not so long ago where we were battered for 70 mins and stole it...that was lauded!

What a night that was. We stole their pockets that night. Can still see Pav sliding towards the corner flag in the pouring rain.

Dawson: "We started superbly, but we had to dig in at the end and it's great to get another 3 points on the board. Gareth's difficult for anyone to deal with. He practices those free-kicks, I was giving him some stick but I'll stop now!"

Does anyone else think the entire prem standard has dropped this season?

Beating a mid-table poor Liverpool side at home by one or two goals is an expected result. I would hardly say it was great.

Didnt see the game but followed it on here and on Sky text commentary. Sounded like we got away with it like we did at Utd.

Whichever way you look at it - great result. I really wanted to beat these.....

By the sounds of it though - much work needs to be done.

What happened to our passing from the moment we scored our second goal?

This was Liverpool's 26th game in a row in all competitions without getting a penalty kick.

In the chasing pack? Yes. There is more quality in Chelsea, City and United, however with us losing VDV and Modric and Arsenal losing RVP the 4th best quality has dropped.

Chelsea are only held back by the crazy russian guy and his butler.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers: "I don't know what Steven Gerrard and Luis Suarez have to do get a penalty. It was bordering on assault on Gerrard [Reds appealed when Gerrard was challenged by Mousa Dembele in the first half].

Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas: "Brendan feels a fairer result was a draw and I have to agree. We did extremely well to hold on to the lead."
