Finally buy a CB and every wants him to play LB when we have 4 of them!!

He won't be playing LB if he is the only CB brought in.

If we did bring in Tapsoba, or someone else would would be more ready (going on what's been said about them) to step straight in then you have Tapsoba at CB, Udogie at LB and VDV able to cover both.

Means we can get rid of most of the LBs and CBs that havent performed for us over too many years.

Same. With the odd exception of someone who inherited their mums house, almost all my mates who lived around gospel oak, swiss cottage etc have moved away. Just so expensive to live in these locations now. Makes no sense to stick around.

The UK is driven by the housing market and growth, over community. I miss the days of going into the pubs of Kentish town and school mates offering clobber off the back of a lorry and the comrarde. It's a totally different reality now. No doubt better, safer, more refined, but we've lost communities in central London.

Had mates who lived in Gainsford Road and we used the Gainsford Arms, The Anglers, The Oxford, The Assembly Rooms and The Tally Ho.

Look how we mismanaged Foyth and perhaps Sanchez and Wimmer too. Whereas King and Campbell got eased in a bit at FB and DM, before taking on the pressure/exposure of CB.

You've got to think of the long game. Remember even Modric had his year at LM, to ease him in gently

He's gonna sign too late to play in Shaktar game and end up making his debut against Barca, Having a mare, then leading this site into meltdown

It used to be a relatively rough area. You buy anything in those pubs. Even forged bank notes. For £5 you could buy a fake £20, and with a sponge run over it, they passed just fine :)

You want rough Camden High Street was your place, Friday and Saturday night in the 50-60's they had a "black maria" parked at Mornington Crescent and by the underground toilets near Camden Town station. The Brighton pub on the corner of Delancy Street nearly always had at least one window boarded up after a fight.

I think when you consider our core requirements, like you say, he offers great potential.
  • Fast and can play a high line.
  • Decent with the ball at his feet.
  • Tall.
What he isn't is experienced, or at his prime yet. He needs patience and to develop. He is not Gvardiol. A beast out the box.VDV lacks the physicality of the elite CBs. But he is extremely fast, and should become an excellent defender.
No CB ive seen matched the pace of VDV. He is unreal on that front

I think it will be Dier, at least for the the first 6 months. Unless Kane goes anyway.

You’ve got to be joking or trolling. CB and Dier specially was one of our biggest problem areas last season and you want to persist with him when we finally go and buy a new CB after years of sticking with the same defenders who have hindered us?!

We didn’t mismanage any of the names you mentioned, there just weren’t good enough.

Playing higher up and with possession will make a massive difference to all our defenders. I wouldnt write off a renaissance from any of them (bar Rodon, who has always been crap)

Foyth needed a loan, and needed more time at RB. He's definitely good enough.

Sanchez perhaps with a more nurturing manager post-Poch might have fulfilled his potential?

Wimmer probably did fluke his one impressive season
