This is a good thing indeed. No point battling and battling to reduce a price that is not going to fall to an acceptable level. Move on and find an alternative target which if you believe the various reports we have done.

Just because he prefers the nightclubs down here, I think we've shown with Reya that we won't overpay and will walk, whereas Saudi Sportswashing Machine definitely will overpay.

They are signing other players.

The Maddison price will fall on deadline drastically as Leicester (already in a perilous financial position) get desperate.
 
this is the kind of investment/risk we should be making if we are seriously trying to rebuild. however I guess we seriously need to start making decisions on past investments on loans now

Think its just prioritisation. Next two priority signings are CBs. These are critical.

If there's cash left after that, then I think you then start to look at a new number 6, a back-up RW to Kulu (if Porro is viewed as a RB) plus ones for the future, like Scott

The odds of Porro being viewed as a RB are literally zero. The guy is not a good defender at all, and we have a very good RB in Royal and another very good potential one in Spence - the exact kind of player Ange is keen to develop.

As for Scott you also have to consider other teams interest in him, West Ham have apparently spoken to his representatives and if they or others firm up their bids our hand might be forced if we do actually want him. This is the crazy world of a transfer window, it's not as black and white as just prioritising with a nice little timetable set out - you have to be flexible....

Let's see about Porro. I think he's more of a winger but other's dont.

re prioritisation I agree about not progressing things in a heavil prescribed manner, but CBs are absolutely critical. You and I dont know what we have available to spend - if there's clearly the ability to sign CBs as well as other positions, then ordering makes no difference. If the financing is tighter, then we should clearly go for priorities first
