No disrespect to ange and obviously i hope he turns out to be a huge success, but i have to question a process that has him as the clear stand out candidate.
I do agree with the comments comparing him to BMJ and hopefully this is us finally turning a corner and beginning the climb back to where we were 5 years ago.

Might be the clear stand out candidate from those remaining! As you, I and others have said, its very hard to believe that he was top of our list to start with. I think he's a decent enough fit with the club though, albeit the lack of experience in a major league will always be a question mark til it becomes unproven

If you are making a list of top managers it’s a bit different for us though.

Ok, who is the best?

Mourinho

Ah, anyone else similar?

Conte

brick, someone a bit younger?

AVB

Hmm, someone a bit more personable?

Poch

fudge

It will be done today, he announced in an interview after the treble he is off on holiday with the family from tomorrow.

Wasn't trying to make this into a Poch discussion but rather making the point that Galtier has struggled with essentially the same side that last season won the league by 15 points! But if you want to, then the fact remains that PSG when Poch took over were in a bad way( by their standards).
Your OP in reply to someone pointing out that Galtier’s Lille had won the league ahead of Poch’s PSG.
That's because he had a head start (they were already top when Poch was appointed).

PSG were 1 point off top when Poch was appointed. That is a fact. So it was hardly an impossible task for Poch to recover that gap in the half-season remaining.
Sure, not a Poch discussion (as long as nobody says anything remotely negative about him).

Also, Ange was apparently Brighton’s first choice when Potter left but he didn’t want to leave half way through the season so they went for De Zerbi instead.

Paul Barber said the other day that De Zerbi was top of their list for 2 years before they even had the vacancy.

He spoke about how they identify their 25 most 'at risk' roles in the club (playing and non-playing) and have a constant replacement targeted

Very normal in a corporate to have succession plans, so logical to do in football too

He can always sign via docusign. Question is how long it takes to get agreement with Celtic, which comes down to the terms of his contract

I'm going to go with him being Levy's choice all along and he was waiting for Celtic's season to end. This is the reason there was no contact with the other managers. The club haven't said anything throughout and the media reports on other managers was just speculation.

I'm sure you'll all agree this is the only logical explanation.

There was a discussion on this a few pages back. Ultimately none of us know what the terms in his contract are. Perhaps we have to buy-out a year of his contract, which I believe is around £2m

It's been celtics policy to have a rolling one year contract with managers since martin o'neil.
Reportedly.

Errr I don't know about that .... im sure that's how we will dress it up

Don’t be silly, we have spoken to the best managers in the world and they all rejected us and don’t want to deal with Levy. They would rather be out of work than coach out team. It’s all Levy’s fault, ENIC OUT! We want our club back, we have done nothing but go backwards since they took over . . . .

Talk about a slight exaggeration...

Some managers probably don't want to work with Levy and Enic knowing that we are not really genuinely going to challenge for anything despite the fighting talk from Levy.

Have we not gone backwards over the last 5 years?

Is Levy not the one constant in our current failures?

I take it you don't like rational debate? But try to make posts like the above to try to somewhat patronise people with an alternative view on the bringer of light Danny

I’m sure they’ve done their due diligence on others but agree that it’s logical given the lack of clear rumours (Slot doesn’t count IMO) and wrapping Ange up within 2/3 days of his season ending.

I sense both of you are being sarcastic but the truth ultimately lies somewhere in the middle.
