It's hilarious ... we don't have the ambition or thr backing for any manager in the right mind to come here.

Honestly if you were a successful manager why would you come here?

Potter flat out said no to us previously even before he left Brighton for Chelsea yet here there are some that are clamoring for him.

The board, the club, the team are a joke

Yeah, I undersatnd the frustration. Was thinking earlier about whether there was another Conte-level name who we could also pay £15m p.a. to in order to paper over the cracks of a rebuild?

I don't thikn thats the ideal approach for us. Think we're better off with Slot or someone like Slot in terms of stage of career, up and coming, type of football etc. Am sure there are more like him (Amorim), but to your point, can we attract them?

So Graham Potter going to Nice?

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...raham-Potter-FAVOURITE-Nices-new-manager.html

That would be a blow as him, followed by Rodgers, always seemed like a fall-back plan

A month ago it felt like there were lots of options!

Its all looking rather grim tbh.

If we are refusing to contemplate Poch or Nagelsmann then whether we like it or not we are best getting a Poste type on a 2 year deal and seeing what he can do.

Jeez as I write this I realise more and more the dire straits we are in, total utter disarray.

Its Ange P or Rodgers then if Potter isnt an option?

Praying that Levy has a manager version of Klinsmann/Van Der Vaart surprise up his sleeve!!!

Yeah Potter or Poste for me as there is still hope they are capable of being the stunning transformational managers Slot and De Zerbi have shown themselves to be.

But two year deal with an option for a third and we can then evaluate how to move forward 12 months from now.

Also we should sell Kane now otherwise we wont get a fee. Where we end in the league without him however is anyones guess.

I wouldnt sell Kane and dont think Levy will. His name will help attract players too.

Need to get on to Potter soon before he signs for Nice!!

Barely a rumour about the new DOF, saw one person from Germany linked a couple of weeks back. Shouldn't we get the DOF sorted first and then a manager. I'm worried no stories are coming out about who it might be.

Why? Where has he done amazing? Brighton? I think it's clear that they have a model that supports the manager and recruit well. Was he that good at Swansea and Sweden? And people question the Dutch league
Brighton haven't been very good for very long despite the important people being there for quite a while.
Potter was their first appointment that really started the upturn.

Depends on what the job remit and model which Levy has in mind is.

If we're going down the Brighton/Brentford route for scouting, we might appoint a lower profile person than a Paratici. That would be easier to dovetail with Munn than a bigger name and maybe both the 'DOF' and Manager would report to Munn? Not sure that DoF is the right title in that case

There were reports that some DoFs were saying no as they wanted to report to Levy rather than Munn, or that they felt overlap between their and Munn's role. To a large extent 'Chief Football Officer' and 'Director of Football' kind of sound the same

Difficult to guess where the 'DoF' hire ends up

I doubt Nagelsmann would consider us anymore.

From a reputation standpoint we are in a very bad place, add to that the actual job offer (money aside) cannot be at all attractive. That is without even beginning to assess the state of the squad and the means to rectify it.

As someone said earlier would a Potter even want to come to Spurs at the moment.

It really feels like a watershed moment for Levy and Enic.

It wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if the whole club is sold over the Summer.
