Christian Stellini - Acting Head Coach for a small part of the season

This is a 6 game appointment.....there's no need to lose your brick or any sleep over it.

We're finishing 5th-8th....we know this already...we might as well switch off (like the team) until June. Embrace the time you've just gained doing something else.

If we are just switching off like the players why even bother sacking Stellini?

Its not that Stallini got a foot in the ass, but we sacked our manager and hire his number 2 then we sack him and hire his number 2… so now we have out number 3.. and I have a feeling the only reason for us not getting a new manager now is just about saving some bucks… and its gonna cost us more. Thats why I say this is a clown Club. 9 out of 10 here knew Stallini would fail

Haters have to hate.

With Stellini in charge, Thurs would have been toxic beyond belief. Questionable whether the players listen to him given he wouldnt have had any authoiry and was Conte's-man

Mason in charge will help the atmosphere as fans will generally support him given he's a Spurs-man

Its the right move

if true, thats why we are where we are

It’s 100% about the manager we want not being able to join until the summer
I think it's way more complicated.
Football has become really odd - managers are now so disposable, so it actually makes finding new managers even harder.
Signing top quality players is hard. I'd say getting too managers is now even harder.
Look at what happened when we ended up with Nuno (who let's not forget was one of highly rated managers in the lge a year before we got him) - we had loads turn us down. We're not at the top table. But are at a premium table in the top Michelin star restaurant - so quite attractive.

It's going to be very tough to get a good manager for lots and lots of clubs this summer.
Our best bet is the Poch route - and yes, getting back with your ex is always risky. But at least you know what works. Sometimes you have to just be mature and work on the other bits.
So either Poch or whoever we think is happy to come in and build like Poch did.

Also, let's not rewrite history - a hell of a lot of people on here were suggesting Stellini before Conte went (me included) with the view of "worth a try. If it goes wrong, we can just get rid." Well that's what happened - we rolled the dice, we got it wrong.
Far play to Levy for being so candid with that. A hell of a lot of CEO's could learn from that!

Which clubs are looking though?

Probably or definitely looking: Us, Chelsea, PSG
Definitely not or highly unlikely: Man C, Man U, Liverpool, Arse, Saudi Sportswashing Machine, Bayern, Barca, Milan, Inter, Napoli, Juve, ....
TBC: Real

I'm not sure there's that many top clubs looking are there?

That's kinda my point - soooo many variables in there.
Juve - who knows what will happen.
Inter and AC. Serie A is so tight, whoever loses their CL semi could very easily also only make the EL places. Potentially even Conf Lge. So could be a casualty there.
Lazio - Sarri doing a great job. Will someone bigger come after him? Wouldn't be surprised if Real did.
Spain will probably only see Real make a change - unless they win the CL.
Ajax and PSV won't be happy - one of them might not make CL. They might stick with Van Nistelrooy and Heitinga or they might decide to try and find the next Slot/DeZerbi.... which is the kind of pond we're also fishing in. Yes we have a big expensive boat, but we're not going to be in the big ocean and probably not the small ocean.

There are lots of teams and positions with question marks and football has gone a bit mad. So it makes every move like a chess move.

The premier league and London is a huge huge attraction
And we pay really big wages for managers

Absolutely it gives an advantage. But it didn't give enough the summer we ended up with Nuno, did it?!

And Chelsea offer the same this summer.

There will be a merry go round - it's just where the first action happens that makes the difference. And we'll be in a weak position out of all the options. Hopefully we get something tied up before then.

I get the impression for Levy's statement that we might. It didn't say Mason was in charge until the end of the season - just that he is in charge right now.
It then immediately went on to say the players have stated that performances must become worthy of our support.
I think we'll see quick and decisive movement.

I think we have the new guy lined up

And look what we had to pay conte to finally come.
Things haven't got better, crowd booing players, singing in support of another manager, a squad that's hopelessly lopsided, best player not clear on his future, don't know who your dof is going to be, only people I see rushing to get that job is a huge egotist or someone after the money.

We = us the fans....I was being churlish about the players.

The club and the players have to think they're moving forward and appear like they're trying.

Even Chelsea could be on their third choice after Naglesmann and Enrique weren't interested.

all top managers are egotists
They believe in themselves
If not.. we shouldn’t touch them

Not sure about this "Player Committee" thing. That's a potentially very worrying development in my opinion. A group of players have the ear of the chairman. How does any manager not feel undermined by that?

I couldn't see Fergie, Clough or any of those boys tolerating a player committee. I know the game has changed but I'd be amazed if Pep or Klopp would tolerate it either.
There's always been a group of senior players that are a link between the more junior squad members and the manager... and since we have no manager, nor DoF, directly to Levy.

Obviously Lloris Kane then Dier and Hojbjerg at least.
