Fraser Forster

I think some fans think that a back up keeper should be ( no far behind in talent) behind the ist teamer. The fact is that90 % of back up keepers are just keepers who are considered not good enough for the first team place. IF they were TOP/Good keepers they would be playing in a first team somewhere.

The truth is they are not considered as good enough to be first choice elsewhere.

He might be alright. He didn't do anything specifically wrong for any of the goals (especially when compared to some of his defensive comrades).
The low shots were well placed in the corner, and I'm sure science can prove a big lumbering giant takes longer to get down horizontal?
That said, that flaw will be noted by upcoming opponents.

Awesome double save. Real shame he couldn't get the plaudits for that as they scored from it in the end.

Never going to be as agile as Lloris getting down to save shots, but commands his area better and is decent distributing the ball. A seasoned pro. Happy to have him.

The one where he got off his line at the striker's feet was very impressive. Looks a reassuring presence to be honest albeit he hasn't been tested much recently.

Reminds me of when we had Friedel to be honest, a decent keeper, nothing more, sometimes that is all you need.

My one thing with him is for a keeper that big, he could come for the ball in the air just a little bit more (Friedel was the same, just not as big)

Hardly see a keeper come out and catch the ball now.

And he seems to have given confidence to the defenders again, said it on here before our CBs may not be the best around but they were not helped by Lloris and the lack of vocal commands he has not given this season.

I think it's understandable for backup GKs to have to shake some rust off and I'm hoping it was just that as the guy seems fairly solid for us so far. Could be a back-up for a few years as he's HG, but definitely hope we upgrade for the #1 spot.

Pretty sure we will, Forster has done well ( so far) but his age is against him being long term. For me a new keeper would be a priorty signing in the next window.

What do you think of Morrocco’s Bono? I might be guilty of WC fever, but coupled with the club performances I have seen, he feels like he’d be good for us. Maybe a question mark with his actual footwork?

I thought exactly the same.

To be honest mate i have not seen a lot of him, but looking at the fact he will be 32 next month would put me off signing him. If we are looking for a full team keeper to replace Lloris ( and imo we should/need to) i would like to see a younger one brought in.
