Nope
You listened to the snippet form Sam Matterface posted here yesterday?

I’m sad I read a lot about football and not much else TBH. UEFA stepped in and took over as the adoption and use of VAR was varying country to country. IFAB right the rules but don’t control the use of VAR. it was the Prem that caused it happen because we wouldn’t use monitors

The PL/FA employ Refs, so we can tell them what to do. If UEFA were employing refs then that would be a different story!

If the PL decided to stop using VAR, UEFA couldn't change that. Plenty of leagues don't use VAR. I think we believe UEFA has more power than it really does.

I get what your saying but the game doesn’t work like that

If we stopped using VAr we could have different rules for one competition and one for Europe... doesn’t work for clubs

And VAr isn’t the problem is it. vAR is just a function to relay everything. It’s the rules and the weak refs that are the issue

Fair enough. I’ve only seen it on my phone. At the very least he looked a bit out of control, but debatable whether that deserves to be punished or not (both in the spirit of the game, and in terms of the laws as they are).
He also got quite the push in the back from the other n'castle player. So much of a push that it should be a FK imo.

I think the MOM speaks volumes about our display yesterday, remember people we were playing a very poor Saudi Sportswashing Machine.
We are missing the point if we fixate on this terrible handball rule.

We were playing a poor Saudi Sportswashing Machine in deed. And we outplayed them. Bit of luck or slightly better finishing and the game would have been wrapped up by the time the penalty happened.

Our performance in the first half was the best we've seen this season. All good teams have games they win by a slim margin despite dominating. With the firepower we have up front, with Bale coming in as well, I'm much more concerned about chance creation than being clinical when talking about our prospects for the rest of the season.

It was a clear positive, but diminished by a ridiculous penalty. Even Bruce agrees, and they just benefited from it.

This was a step in the right direction. Many more needed before we are where we want to be, but I'm happy about the improvement. It's difficult to feel that with any real intensity though as the penalty for me caused much stronger emotions.

That we dominated the game and would've comfortably won by a large margin most days.

The fact is we drew at home to Saudi Sportswashing Machine.

Yes, there is the mitigating reason but that's just excuses for not getting the job done earlier.

I dunno about most days, our chance conversion has always been profligate.
There might be some stats to go against this but under Jose I’ve felt like we’ve had less chances and therefore taken a higher %, which was concerning me as under most successful regimes we used to regularly knocking at the door and a home defeat against the lower teams would usually come from a combination of profligacy, keeper heroics, a strong defence and a sucker punch (usually from someone who hasn’t scored for a year, was coming back from injury or used to play for us!)
It might be that Saudi Sportswashing Machine are exceptionally gash but 95 out of a 100 times we win that game, Southampton was an extreme of both poor finishing from then and good quality from us (helped by their suicidal high line) and Everton was an attritional game that we never retained any control over once we’d gone behind. If the three games this is the only one that’s made me feel like we are moving forward and we will be a little more expansive rather than just hoping to counter attack.

Rory Delap would have a field day if he was played now. Any throw -in near the box, throw it straight at a defenders arm.

He would have been lethal for Stoke

I'm pleased with a good performance and the new players playing well. Go and be a joy thief somewhere else.

Sorry if you think I'm being a miserable sod. I just don't see a good performance. I see a mediocre performance from a team struggling to break down a poor team.

PS I'm blaming lockdown;)

Every bugger else does...
