Its VAR that is killing the game, it was supposed to stop all the arguments that happen after a game, all it has done is create more. The problem the FA have is that is has been such my favourite buttplug since bringing it in that they have to keep changing the rules to TRY and make it seem like a good idea. They can not admit that its my favourite buttplug as they would look like the idiots they are.

It wasn’t totally clear what he was saying on Sky, but I think he was trying to say we picked up an injury today, we’re likely to pick up another on Tuesday, then another on Thursday, then a couple next week...
 
The only consolation I have is the thought that if there is a stupid rule there to be exploited, Jose will have them practicing hitting an arm for about three mornings a week now.

Yes. That why I said this season. It was a positive comment that despite not getting 3 points and pointing at maybe being a little profligate from close range and unlucky from distance there were many positives compared to those previous games and probably a few into the end of last season in terms of us actually controlling the game rather than relying on a ball over the top.

They are trying to do the wrong thing 'righter'. You see this all the time in organisations and management. The right this is simple, the video ref should look for big obvious mistakes, and let the ref know. That was the intention, but without knowing it, the management has evolved VAR to be a bit of a monster with video refs looking for any contact at all with an arm in the box.

Hopefully it will just add some determination to put games like this to bed and create a little siege mentality. I’m more concerned about sons hammy than the 2 points tbh, was particularly pleased with PEH today.

IFAB didn’t change this I believe (I could be wrong ) but I thought it was a UEFA thing as they thought different leagues were applying the rules differently so took over and changed some too

But a big issue here is the infringement isn’t met with a punishment that’s comparable to it
At worst that’s an indirect free kick for obstruction maybe... that’s the level of these offences

I don't believe so. I think that the most ridiculous part is not making any allowances for players who cannot see the ball or don't have time to react. What used to be ball to hand rather than hand to ball.

Depends on how long he is out. In terns of league games we only have one in the next 19 days, and that's United where he probably would not see much of the ball anyway, based on our last 2 visits.
He will be a massive loss in the other 2 comps though
