Serious relegation fears

I've just been thinking

If we come 2nd, it will officially be the joint 3rd most successful league season in our history (we also came 2nd in 1922, 1952, 1957 and 1963)

If we come 3rd, it will be our highest league finish since 1990 (1985 and 1987 being the only other times we've got top 3 since 1963)

However this finishes now, Poch is making history

Really don't see that happening. Ranieri has managed in the CL before and will set them up to be difficult to break down as they are in the Premier League. They will play at least one bottom feeder. Not saying they will qualify but it's just more sour grapes to say they will flop and will be fighting relegation next season.
The bottom feeder team will also play not to lose, so it might end up being the tougher game. As for sour grapes, do you really think the current Leicester team will remain intact? Or manage to attract any decent players without breaking the bank (assuming that alone would be enough to entice a CL quality player)?

They won't need to. The era of the galactico ended in 2014. Well drilled high-pressing teams made up of young hungry players with minimal egos are in the ascendancy. The tv deal also means that smaller clubs simply don't have to sell.

3 points for a win coming in in 1981 also changed things a lot (away draws became less desirable results) and made it hard to compare.

The double winning side lost 7 league matches vs our 4 to-date

Only drew 4 games, won over 75% of games, today a projected total of 82 points

Chelsea have been awful despite what their fans may tell you. Everyone in the world is against them and Mourinho according to their fanbase. Emirates Marketing Project have massively underperformed.
They've both been terrible by their own standards. Still significantly better than Leicester though.

Leicester played Emirates Marketing Project and Chelsea off the park when they beat them. The only difference is Chelsea and Emirates Marketing Project have been more attack minded.
Like I said, in a small number of games Leicester have been good. The rest of the time they've been pretty poor (at least by top 6 standards).

Edit:
This is a perfect example of Leicester, and it was us on a bad day, them on a good one.

They won't have a choice. They know this was a fluke season and it's not like they're a team with a plan, like us. Mahrez will be gone and so will Kante. So they'll have to find their replacements AND bring in a bit more quality. If they can afford a few £100K+/week players, then there's hope. But what quality player would want to come to Leicester, knowing there a one-season wonder?
