I hope not mate. Even if the rumors are true and Paratici does want one of his chaps in, I hope he has the sense to realize that neither Farioli or de Zerbi are going anywhere fast right now, given their struggles. They'll still be around next summer when Ange's contract ends.

Hell, Farioli might be sacked by Ajax - that's how low his stock is right now. *No one* is snapping him up. So what's the harm in letting Ange see out the last year of his contract, and then appointing one of your Italian mates after?

De Zerbi would be toxic for us IMO

Not happening mate. I don't think he's going to take us into the top four/six or whatever, but there is no way this year is replicated - too many things had to go wrong simultaneously, and the learnings from this year will help with the next.

There is more evidence to suggest that we will be involved in a relegation battle if he stays for next season, then evidence to the contrary

100% mate. Guy has an ego the size of Jupiter and has spent the entirety of the season at Marseille picking fights with his players as they fell into, and then out of his favour on a weekly basis. Marseille feeds his ego given that club in general is a constant drama, but for that circus to come to Spurs given the season we've had and the young players we have that need support and nurturing...not for me.

He also has only one tactic, which is what I thought was Ange's major flaw.

Farioli is a little better - by all accounts Ajax fans really liked him and were sad to see him go, and he connected with the fans and the players. But he apparently played safety-first football and finished 2nd in the Eredivisie, with Ajax - this is not, as managerial performances go, a particularly memorable one.

If he stays and we have a spate of injuries. Is it the case again that people will say there a mitigating factors for if we're stuggling? Will Europe be used to say we were focusing on that instead of something else.

Like I said in the match thread. Next season with a nice rest, what will everyone be judging Ange on if our league form continues to spiral?

You would have to think that with CL football, any of the potential PL candidates, Iraola, M.Silva, Frank or Glasner would all jump at the chance, Moreso now than had we lost that final.

Glasner is the one that I would have said is 50/50 but it looks like that team is getting dismantled with Eze and Guehi wanting out etc. He also seems pretty ambitious. Although there's always that worry about coaches that love a back 3 ;)

Says who? It would be pretty absurd to sack Ange tonight or tomorrow, after the week we've just had.
Not if the new guy has been lined up ready to go. We are gonna get brick from the media for sacking Ange whenever they do it, at least if it's quick and a new man arrives it gives everyone something else to focus on

Apparently there is a meeting regarding it tonight.

I thought I was being overly-cynical by thinking the trophy parade was perhaps organised for Friday rather than Bank Holiday Monday to potentially allow the option for a parting of the ways to be announced tomorrow…but maybe I wasn’t.

i think management talks about it all the time they meet, even at the annual christmas party.

the key is vinai, the new ceo. he is obviously very well connected and probably has a few names on his list already. that said he hired then inexperienced arteta and persisted with him despite winning nothing. the only difference is arteta had a very disciplined team within a matter of months and has gone on from strength to strength.

yeah i know they haven't won anything but first year arteta arsenal was already better to watch than 2nd year ange spurs. very well drilled and disciplined, no subs-coming-in-cold syndrome etc.

I think they will be guided more by Paratici, I find it unlikely he is going to come back unless he is getting his choice of manager
