I think it is fair to say that this season has redefined our idea of a very poor league position!
I havent really been keeping tabs on the league table since we were safe TBH but had a look now for the top 4 and my my that is close!

I then look at the 2nd half of the table, weirdly one I have never really looked at much and it is truly shocking where we are sitting. An absolute embarrassment of a league season. Unheard of.

Let's say the club HAVE decided a while back to part ways and have been working on options for next season etc... In that scenario when do you think they would sack/thank Ange and announce the parting of ways? I mean, Would they consider the attention it would cause doing it tomorrow (So fresh after the Europa win) or would you wait a while and let things calm down and let Ange and everyone enjoy the moment for a few days?

Good question. There is no right time to do it. I think he became unsackable when he started mentioning the third season, which is always better than the second, to a delirious crowd at the High Road. I don't think there's an obvious successor either. I think Levy will (grudgingly) stick with Ange for now, and sack him before November.

Allegedly they have ameeting monday. Not sure if that's tomorrow or the 2nd. Paratici starts 1st.

Paratici is 1st July no? I assume he'd be consulted but we wouldn't be waiting until July, At least I bloody hope not!

I also think it will be a bit quick and ruthless. Thanks for everything etc.

There's definitely been strong rumours that we have spoken to different coaches. It's just whether we have something done in the background already I'd guess.

Doesn't his ban end on July 20? That's what I recall - not sure he can officially start before that, though I have zero doubt he's already been integrated into decision-making in other ways.

I will say this - if the reported replacements Paratici seems to want are true (Francesco Farioli, who bottled the league with Ajax, and de Zerbi, who has had an extremely topsy-turvy season with Marseille), then his taste in managers hasn't improved one bit from the days of Gattuso, Fonseca and Nuno.

Paratici has an elite eye in terms of footballing talent. But I'm not sure that extends to managers - and now he has no Conte to bail him out, given he wouldn't in a million years return here.

My bad you are correct.

30th july.

Anyone who doesn't think Paratici hasn't got his hands dirty and isn't steering right now is missing a trick. And I am not sure Paratici and Ange are on the same page...

I hope not mate. Even if the rumors are true and Paratici does want one of his chaps in, I hope he has the sense to realize that neither Farioli or de Zerbi are going anywhere fast right now, given their struggles. They'll still be around next summer when Ange's contract ends.

Hell, Farioli might be sacked by Ajax - that's how low his stock is right now. *No one* is snapping him up. So what's the harm in letting Ange see out the last year of his contract, and then appointing one of your Italian mates after?

The possibility he could relegate us?
