*** OMT FA Cup Round 3 - Tottenham Hotspur FC v Burnley ***

Not great. In fairness, Burnley were much more sensible than I expected and Kompany has gone up in my estimation.

Thought Emerson was brilliant. Cut out a lot of balls all night. When people were asking “why him instead of the kids?”, tonight is why. Good on him.

Davies was good too. Porro too and what a hit. Bentancur okay.

Through without a replay, will take that all day long.
yes absolutely....Royal was sharp. doing the dirty work and staying focused throughout. Could've been man of the match.

Davies and Royal were decent, so much so, I forgot we were playing with 4 full backs

Proper scrappy win and (hopefully) no injuries. I'll take that.

Ended the game with just four players who would be in our preferred starting 11.

Throwing all the youngsters on nearly cost us the game, plus Holberg who was sloppy. Gill and Sessegnon continually giving it away or losing possession. Gill makes me tear my hair out , never releases the ball early.
Lack of options and goalscorers is a big worry.
We need at least one more decent draw , preferably at home , then we might actually have a chance in this competition.

The weird thing is it's not like having Solomon and Perisic would make much difference at all. Johnson doesn't have the cutting edge yet but it's lurking in there somewhere, a shame with Veliz but we know he's not really ready to start in the league anyways. I am coming round to the idea of getting a proper first choice forward in because we look short up there.

Don't think the youngsters looked out of place though, it was PEH who went between the sublime and ridiculous...

I still can't believe the position that Ange has Skipp playing, he's a useful player but not a threatening one, it's painful to watch him milling around without purpose.

And we definitely need a song for Porro, he deserves it. It's well overdue.

For a brief few seconds I honestly thought Lee Dixon was going to give it to one of the Burnley defenders, which would have been the icing on the cake of his commentating tonight
haha yeah same here.....was sure he was going to do that

We are through to the next round at least.

Whilst I get a forward is impossible this window to replace him, unless Saudi pay a big fee, we can't go into next season with Richi as our 1st choice.

Johnson is the 10% man
He has that in it and when it’s cracked… there is a player there
That extra 10%

Hope we dont read anything in the morning reporting x or y player has picked up a niggle, as with the return of VDV and Sess I think we are down to just 7 (just...he says) unavailable.

Yeah, that's a fear I just can't shake this season. Bentancour got a bit of a knock to his knee, then he was subbed - the pessimist in me drew instant conclusions.

cagey game with a few players flattering to deceive a little - I have to say I think Richi and Johnson looked like they were off the boil tonight, Kulu his usual self and some good minutes for Bentancur plus some youngsters.

Burnley lack cutting edge and ultimately are a strong Championship team - they need more attacking nouse to be able to stay in the top flight now they are out of the cup.

Looks like the revolving injury door is VDV back and Davies out now - cannot believe how this season has gone for injuries.

masochist
Haha I thought we battled well, won all the 50/50s, passed the ball well out from the back, attacked quickly at times (until the final 3rd), didn't let them string any moves together etc.
Obviously the final pass/decision making was shocking at times and Johnson looks like a shy kid that's been asked to play with big boys at times but compared to almost every single game last season this was virtually a joy to sit through lol!
