Ding ding ding! We have a winner.

If Cazorla is better than Lnnon or not isn't the real issue, although I think he is (anyone see Lennon getting into the Spanish Euro squad???)

We really need some options on the flanks, Cazorla can play on either flank, behind a striker and in a central trio in midfield. Would be a great signing if we could get him.

Can Pato play on the wing?
:ross:

There are no guarantees that you'd catch aids on a one off encounter with a rancid hooker but i wouldnt want to risk it

How does not wanting to risk alot of money on an injury prone player have any link to if you like the person as a player or not?

odd reasoning.

Brazil can do what they like, they get him for free and if he's injured they send him back and get him when he is healthy...like recyclining toilet paper...and they do this as many times as they want ...for FREE

are we signing Pato??????

is that who AVB went to see at the Brazil hotel????

Hulk who?????

Spanish fans were bemused at how Carzola got picked in the first place over Munian and Adrian. Like ArcSpace, I could definitely see Lennon in the Spanish squad if Navas can get picked, one of the single most overrated footballers I've ever seen, I imagine he gets in the Spanish squad as he sort of adds something different, get the ball, direct attack and cross the ball in (similar to Lennon in that respect).

Contrary to reports - Modric IS at training today - not only fee met but replacement lined up is the deal breaker

Adebayor: heard yesterday he's unlikely to sign 4-yr-deal as it stands. Doesn't match City package. Second loan deal, maybe? #thfc #mcfc

yeah, id take him on another loan deal

Ade's off to AC Milan most likely - they'd offer higher wages, CL football and possibly a higher sign-on fee to City

Get on the phone to Bilbao, Daniel - The Lion is waiting!

I have no idea why people are discussing Pato or what my post had to do with him.

Like I said, my point isn't really who the better player is out of Cazorla and Lennon, I just think he is better.

My point is that we need options for those attacking midfield spots and Cazorla would give us that.

mistakes? what mistakes?

no significant replacement if Ade got injured. He was a very key player for us last year, his goals and his assists helped us out. If he got a lengthy injury, we'd of had Defoe up top and that is it. Not knocking Defoe he got his fair share of goals but its like our whole game plan changes.

Fair enough, I respect your opinion and you are spot on about needing the depth that Cazorla would provide.

So that's two big obsticles there then; Real Madrid (or whoever) not meeting our asking price, and also not signing-off until we have a deal agreed for a player to replace him.

I can't imagine Real Madrid would only have one target; yes they'd focus on acquiring Modric, but if - in their minds - we're tinkling around and delaying, then I'd expect them to move onto other options.

And the Moutinho deal (which is who you'd expect AVB would look to naturally 'replace' him with) is one which Levy would prefer to let run and run, in order to try and force Porto's hand.

6 weeks left until the end of the transfer window.

I'm seeing it increasingly possible that Modric will remain at Spurs next season.

Do you think perhaps Townsend / Bentley could offer decent cover on the wings this season instead of splashing 20m on a Spanish player?

Jenas and Bentley have to go...how many managers have tried to extract something out of them and failed. AVB will be no different, so any decent offers and we should let them go

Yeah I think so too.

I don't think Ade really cares where he plays, neither would I expect him to have developed any great affinity to Tottenham Hotspur. I'd suppose he just wants his future to be resolved, and whether that's coming to us or A N Other is probably largely irrelevant to him.

I don't blame City either; they're merely taking the exact same stance that we are with Real Madrid over Modric. We're not some charity which deserves a helping hand; Ade is a top class footballer, one who would be in demand, and if Levy seriously wants thinks that he could get equal quality for equal or less money elsewhere, then good luck to you Daniel.

A bit pedantic perhaps, but options, not cover. There is a difference.

I already stated that I think Cazorla can play other positions than on the wings.

Decent, maybe. For Bentley that almost seems optimistic. Townsend has a lot of promise, but he is far from the finished article. I think Cazorla would be noticeably better than decent.

It was a throw away comment. I meant it in the "I don't like the look of that horse in that race" kind of way.

I understand your concerns and I'll be honest that when I suggested it I didn't know his injury history was as bad as the beating I'm getting by you lot here is suggesting.
