Jose Mourinho - SACKED

Oh so now we need time patience and a new squad

Couldn't make it up.

One thing you forgoe when you jump on the manager merry go round with a short term appointment like Mourinho is the calls for patience and time, even less so when the previous manager was thrown out because you sided with the quality of the squad over him - Mourinho has to deliver, now and with these players, it's what you all demanded of Pochettino and so it's only fair it should be demanded of Jose.

The fudging cheek of it

I never demanded it of Poch, he had to go because we could not buy a win and would have been relegated had he stayed.

Mourinho will pick up enough points between now and the end of the season for us not to worry.

Whoever came in would need time, but the ones who are still in love with Poch will never give the new guy whoever he is time.

Not true, not from what i have seen anyway - the problems we had under Poch are still here now under Mourinho ie THE SQUAD and people are just highlighting that changing managers hasn't solved anything.

Mourinho is on a hiding to nothing with this squad

You may be right. Will be interesting to see how this plays out. Levy's three big successes as managers were Jol, Harry and Poch. The managers who followed the other two failed. Will be interesting to see if Jose can buck that trend. He's a winner but he has a much bigger job on his hands than I thought.

Yeah.

So give him time to get a new squad. Knowing that he wont get us relegated in the process.

The time to have appointed Mourinho would have been when we left WHL and the squad was at it's peak - he could have taken that team and run with it

not saying we should have but that is when you appoint Mourinho, nit qhen you need to rebuild. Ynless we use him to get that Campos DoF in from Lille this will end in tears as itbis a job not suited to him

I agree but Jose is not a nice guy! Thank GHod!
Pochettino was a nice guy, I hate nice guys they are soft!
Jose will let us know who fudged up as he already is with NDombele

Jose is throwing people under the bus to save himself, I'll be surprised if he's here come the end of next season.

That's actually a very fair point. I was thinking earlier that appointing him as the next manager would have been the way to go but we'd have likely fallen so far (ie out of CL) that he wouldn't come then and, like you say, it'd take a bit of rebuilding then anyway.

You've pinpointed the time that we should have appointed him even if we couldn't. The only counter argument is that he can't afford another failure on his CV so soon after United.

Interesting times...

That's the position we are in, he's manager and a squad rebuild is required - i doubt he'll see it through but it's the position we've put ourselves in.

I am agreeing with you.

Difference isi am not crying into my pillow looking up at my Poch posters crying like a teenage girl.

I'm still gutted that Poch was sacked and didn't want Mourinho as manager. That said, he's got a pass from me until next season. There is serious work needed on this squad. He's only been here six weeks and he's had two or three games a week to deal with during that time and loads of injury problems to hamper him.

He should be open to the exact same type of criticisms Sherwood was.
He wasn't given any 'pass' by anyone until the end of the season.
