In Sterling's current form I have no reason to believe either Aurier or Foyth would have fared any better in the first half

Tripper last season was targeted by teams because of his lack of pace and concentration lapses. It is why he was sold.

WP might not be the answer for a team who wants to win the title I don't think he is. But he is the best we got right now, playing what could be the best time in Europe.

Maybe a lefty would have cut out that pass to aguero. But regardless of his main foot, Sanchez needs to do better. He wasn't marking a man or cutting out the pass. But out wide we shouldn't have let DeB get free either when we have 3 men against their 2 attacking. So as a side we need to step up our defending. Just a little lax at times.

Indeed Sanchez needs to improve but. I have felt for sometime we have overrated Toby. I was really hoping someone was going to pay the release clause so we could start planning for life after him and Verts given their ages.
 
Lucky to be only 2-1, I think Poch has to go back to 4231 as Sissoko is marginalised as a player out wide or in the final third. Moura on for one of the midfielders but this game needs everyone to step up for us to have any chance
 
I'm not able to watch today (overseas and cant find a stream) but doesnt sound like Poch has learned from last week. Our midfield balance didnt work then and sounds like its not working this week either. We have options this week though with Eriksen available from the start so could have played Moura instead of say Sissoko and gone 4-2-3-1. Hopefully with Son back next week he'll be forced to go back to our best formation

I'm still not sure what formation it is. I thought it was 4-2-3-1 but with players in the wrong position initially. I don't think it can be 4-3-3 because Lamela has been playing in behind and Erisken isn't far enough forward either.
But it is crap, whatever it is.

We clearly can't handle them but they can't handle pace. We miss Son and Moura massively. Hoping Moura comes on and lo celso too for Eriksen and winks. We don't need 3 cms in there IMO.

Yeah but they will do this to every single team that goes there, just stay in the game and hope to knick something at the end, they are on a different level to everyone, it’s literally cheat mode this fixture is imo the only free shot we get all season.
