Transfer window thread?

A 27 year old, who has never broken the Porto first team, so is on loan at a mid-table club? Sounds just the job.

Mind you, he's probably still better than Sissy

He's in Porto's first team this season and has scored 15 goals so far this season

Think someone on here mentioned it before but maybe signing first choice strikers to sit on our bench is the wrong way to go about it and maybe we should be looking for a striker who already excells in the back up role...

Yeah, you really want someone in their early 30s, who has kind of achieved everything in the game (a world cup, euro and serie a winner perhaps), who will help Kane develop and be a safe pair of hands on the odd occasions he's injured or needs resting.

Man United and Arsenal target Malcolm drops 'transfer hint'
Manchester United and Arsenal target Malcolm has apparently dropped a transfer hint by revealing he is taking English lessons.

The Bordeaux wonderkid is a January target for a number of Premier League clubs after impressing in Ligue 1 this season.

The 20-year-old starlet has netted seven times in 18 appearances this campaign, and has assisted his teammates on four occasions.

He was previously in talks with the Red Devils over a mooted £33million transfer, but the proposed deal failed to materialise.

It was, at the time, reported that the Manchester club were prepared to loan him back to the French outfit for the remainder of the season.

The Brazilian, who started his career at Corinthians before joining Bordeaux in 2016, took to Instagram on Saturday to show the world what he is currently up to.

And it seems he sparked some excitement by revealing he is learning to speak English, by posting a picture of the flash cards he is using to study.

What we need is someone who pushes Dele, Son or Eriksen down the pecking order

We kind of have that in Llorente and so far that isnt really working out (small sample size i know) im more specifically thinking of Solskjaer or Hernandez type that has shown themselves capable of performing when called upon as a second choice striker - doesnt really have to be a big name or whatver just someone that doesnt require regular game time to be able to do his thing

That or a young player who can also play wide look like the most obvious answers

Yep.

Llorente's doing ok. Janssen didn't work, but I think Poch has done well in that we have an
option in Alli and Son as auxiliary forwards if we're really pushed.

Let's face it: we're never going to get a back up striker who can do what Kane does. Anyone that good would be first choice elsewhere.

So we need to be a bit creative.

Every time I see this I just think of Son, he has been the best cover we have had for Kane.

One obvious implication of the Coutinho deal is that Barca have an extra midfielder than they might need; they've also more than spent the Neymar money now on Dembele and Coutinho. It's not a leap of faith to then assume that they might now be a more willing seller and it might be easier to get Andre Gomes now than it was in the last few hours of the last window. As I've said elsewhere, I think he would be a great addition and could play a similar role for us that de Bruyne plays for Man C - deep, but very attacking midfielder, who can play defence splitting balls and run with it

What about Lucas Moura - a brazilian at PSG. Is he a faster more direct version of Lamela? With Lamela back would we need Moura? Moura could cover Eriksen - something that we do need. We need one more attacking player imo. Sissoko isn't that player, and with Son effectively covering Kane, we need another tricky forward and Moura would be a top quality addition.

Only the club and Poch will know what the state of Dembele, Wanyama and Winks is. All 3 seem to have had some niggeling issues. All 3 have been vital to us in a number of games. It depends on how these 3 are set, and Poch's confidence in them, as to whether we need another deep CM.

Seems quite likely there could be some turnover at Stoke come the summer, especially if they still go down. Anyone in their squad we might have an interest in? Cheaper-Motoring was supposed to have been interesting CL clubs, wasn't he?

Maybe Butland. Thats it. Literally nobody else.

PSG are the club we should be looking at - they are off loading decent players they deem not good enough.

And we have some kind of working relationship with them after signing Aurier. But it comes down to wages and whether other (richer) clubs are interested too.

Have you forgotten who our chairman is?

Surely that makes it less likely that people would want to deal with him again.
