Ok mate…

For many other managers selling Johnson would have been an issue, but not this one, he didn’t play him and using 5 or so minutes v Palace as the final sub to say he did .. well.. :D

No it didn't.... What would be the point of that?

You do realise that generally when a business arranges a capital injection as debt, it is arrange as a draw down facility where a fee is paid with interest only occurring on the money as it is drawn down? Arranging a loan and then injecting capital to pay it back immediately would be a pretty silly thing to do from a financial perspective.

Selling him isn’t the issue. Selling him with out a replacement is, especially at the moment when we’re so short of senior attackers and games are thick and fast.

We’re short but it’s not desperate times. Muani can play LW, ST, RW. So can Tel, who’s currently getting splinters. We still have Scarlett for ST, and he looked useful when he came on on the left. And he’s also played off the right. I think that could be enough to tide us over for 20 mins sub appearances for the the next couple of games until someone new comes in. But we do need someone

We do one thing: play football matches. Those 95 odd minutes defines everything. Having a player who’s 10% better is important.

Johnson could have been worth a goal or more solid build up play. Richarlison and Kudus have played too many games.

‘It’s fine’. Yes we’ll get by but it’s small time to let him go for a lowesh fee when we are not ready with a replacement. And it may well cost a point or two, maybe already has - see Richarlisons late miss from just past the penalty spot. Johnson might have nailed that or made one of the passes on the break that Richie fluffed against Brentford in the closing minutes.
