I think selling Johnson makes perfect sense - but when we are ready! We could have done with his cool as a sub, then sold him once we have a replacement passed their medical. That is how a well-run club should act.
I'm so confused by this. Wtf would Johnson do? Was he good on the ball? Hell no. Was good under pressure? fudge no. Was he an outlet who could run a ball away from our goal? He never did once in 2.5 years. So exactly what difference would he have made today that he didn't make in every game he played under Ange when we dropped points from opposition pressure? This is fantasy land talk.

In the same token is it better to wait to form any opinion?

If they were truly "new" owners, sure, but a set of statements made purposely post closing

Regardless of Johnson's ability, a body is better than no body and if we can be proactive enough to sell/loan 3 players in first 3 days of window, surely 1 incoming isn't too much to ask?

Maybe he could have scored a second goal he was pretty good at that. That's right scoring isn't enough these days my bad

How come he didn't score that 2nd goal in the 22 games we lost last season?

Again this is fudging fantasy land talk.
How come other players didn't step up in those 22 games. Nope has to be Brennan fault right. I reckon his 18 goals in 51 appearances last season is pretty good. He might have scored this morning but we sold him. I have seen far worse players at spurs who haven't been treated by some fans as badly as Brennan what does he do exactly. If you don't know the answer it's goals

It's not fantasy land it's fact he scored goals. Who exactly have we replaced his goals with

Pressing.
Converting openings into goal.
Showing a bit of calm to make a simple pass on the break.

i really thought that johnson would do well under TF who could have chosen to play a quick counter attacking style
feels to me though that once Kudus was brought in, the decision was made to sell Johnson.

but how sexy it is that THE DAY THAT JOHNSON MAKES HIS DEBUT, KUDUS GETS INJURED !

We bring on Johnson yesterday and he scores one of those breaks.

Little more than "Theboyhotspur" trolling West Ham fans I'd have thought
Probably. That bloke's not exactly a great example of online Spurs fandom yet keeps getting exposure. I remember he somehow weaselled his way onto BBC online a few seasons back.

That said, considering Paqueta was almost a big money Emirates Marketing Project signing not long ago, then that price for a 28 year old may be worth the gamble considering what he could bring. Question marks abound but it may be that simply getting out of West Ham would fix a few things fast for the guy.

This fantasy talk because if Johnson was playing the same chances wouldn't have even been made because he's a different player who plays on a different way.

You can't be sure of that you are biased because you think he is brick it's that simple but I am talking fantasy right oh. Maybe someone crosses a ball into the box & he bangs it in 2-0 game over but that could never happen according to you. We will never know because we sold him. Have we replaced his goals with anyone yet

But you are talking fantasy what ifs. What if he broke his leg? What if he missed the chance? What if my auntie had gonads? 🤣

I don't know how good your maths is but what is it about 18 goals in 85 games that makes you so certain he would 100% have scored yesterday?

Not sure I can back a policy of recreating West Ham's attack  (minus their best player!)

Spurs interested in RB Leipzig winger Diomande

Latest from Sky Sports News' Lyall Thomas & Michael Bridge:

Tottenham are among several clubs interested in RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande.

Spurs are in the market for a new forward this month, and Diomande is among the options under consideration.

Sky Sports News revealed last week that the 19-year-old was being monitored by Manchester United.

Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich are two more clubs keeping tabs on the Ivory Coast international's progress.

The highly-rated teenager has been impressing in Germany this season, scoring seven goals in all competitions.

Anyone watched him? Any good for what we need now?
