*** TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR vs. Swansea City OMT ***

Give them the ball, keep wide & forward, win back possession and quick passes to the wings. Switch play to ensure that the opposition are as stretched as possible and use what pace we have to try to get the space behind the opposition defence. Swansea will have to come forward but it's what we do when they lose the ball that counts.
Then they're not compact if they've been stretched or if they're leaving gaps behind.

Could anyone PM me a river to watch on android? Or let me know if it's on any mobdro channels...cheers

what a goal by Chadders by the way......stunning cushioned volley

great cross too....who says crosses are a waste of time

good to hear. now we need Walker to find his crossing boots too!!

Following the game on here so the more info the better guys. Thanks

Then they're not compact if they've been stretched or if they're leaving gaps behind.

But isn't that the idea? To work on breaking their compact shape. To stretch them out, through a series of play, so as then capitalise. If they're compact, and we can't change that, then only quick, accurate, passing & moving, plus players capable of creating space through running with/out ball is the only solution. Would have to be a balance of the two but either can, in theory, work.

Passing slowly and without direction, on the other hand, will never work.

How do you counter a compact team?

Let them have the ball, invite them out? Although our lazy defence probably aren't reliable enough for that.

But we'll keep bashing our head against a brick wall and hopefully scrap a 90th minute winner hey?

We really do lack intricacy at times, it's where I wish Eriksen was far more influential.. Goes missing.

Neither Eriksen or Kane are in the game! Chadli looks lively though. Get those long range shots past the first defender and we'll score eventually.

two pretty evenly matched teams to be honest. an one form eriksen and kane would probably give us an edge but there isn't much between the sides.

actually just had a look, if swansea win tonight then we are right in shooting range.

Townsend is just hopeless!! Can't control the easiest of passes, and then dribbles himself.... Get Lamela on!
