Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Licence To Stand

Re: Northumberland Development Project - CPO Now Granted!!!

Yep, exciting week ahead. We should find out whether Archway will appeal. I'm getting hopeful now that they won't. Good info from GPRD BTW, thanks for that.

Re: Northumberland Development Project - CPO Now Granted!!!

I thought the appeal deadline was a week or so back?

The various documents weren't submitted to the relevant authorities until two or three weeks after the DCLG announced their decision. The clock didn't start ticking until then.

Re: Northumberland Development Project - CPO Now Granted!!!

As I said ealier, this can't be more difficult than for some1 to just go take a look at what's going on in Paxton Road and take a few photos. Surely someone on this forum lives nearby?

I live 6 minutes walk from the stadium. Will try to get some.

Re: Northumberland Development Project - CPO Now Granted!!!

Look like tomorrow is the last day they can appeal if I read the order correctly:

The order as confirmed becomes operative on the date on
which this Notice is first published. A person aggrieved by
the order may, by application to the High Court within 6
weeks from that date, challenge its validity under Section 23
of the Acquisition of Land Act 1981.

Dated: 30th July 2014

If that is correct, and no appeal is made, I think we can expect some sort of announcement from the club by the end of the week or the beginning of next week.
Can't really wait to get the final confirmation!!! Ohh the agony of not nowing!! I want to know NOW!! ](*,)

Also really looking forward to seeing the final design by Populous.

Seemed like business as usual to me. Gates were just closing as I got there; stuff coming and going. There were a couple of fellows working in the yard, but I didn't want to be too nosy.

Thanks for the update, this is worse than transfer deadline day, as the stakes are so much higher. Can we really start seeing the way clear this week or will it be more delays?

Re: Northumberland Development Project - CPO Now Granted!!!

When you say they have until x to appeal. Is that actually lodging their full appeal by this date, or just confirmation of intention to appeal?

I'm no expert, but I guess it means they have to start the process by formal notification to a court, and probably the Council as well as it's the Council that issued the CPO, which was then ratified by the Govt. Not long till we find out anyway.

Re: Northumberland Development Project - CPO Now Granted!!!

Significant update... :(

http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/new-stadium-update-100914/

Further to the Secretary of State confirming the Compulsory Purchase Order in respect of the last remaining land to be acquired for the stadium site, the Club can confirm that the landowners, Archway Sheet Metal Works Ltd and the Josif Family have exercised their right to seek to challenge the Secretary of State's decision in the High Court. The challenge proceedings will now commence and we await notification of the earliest possible date for the High Court Hearing.

We have already successfully and amicably relocated more than 70 businesses in the area to the satisfaction of all parties concerned and a number of these organisations continue to reside in the borough.

Whilst we were able to accommodate all these other businesses' requests, in the instance of Archway, we have been unable to reach agreement over the period of the last seven years.

That said, we remain committed to finding the earliest possible resolution and shall continue to engage with Archway regarding a possible agreement reached by private treaty.

Given the lengthy period of time taken to reach the CPO decision in the first place, we should like to advise supporters that it is highly unlikely we shall be able to open the new Stadium at the start of the 2017/2018 season.

The Club has revised its construction programme in order to take the shortest possible time to construct. This now therefore involves the Club moving away from the Lane during construction for a period of one season, to start at the beginning of a season in order to comply with Premier League rules.

We are currently undertaking due diligence on alternative stadium options. Consideration needs to be given to several factors, including planning and policing and, importantly, our fans and the impact it may have on the Team itself. Clearly all possible options have pros and cons and we are aware that we shall not be able to find one which will please all parties. We shall however seek to find the optimum solution for the Club and our supporters and we shall be sharing our deliberations with our supporters at an appropriate time.

We shall continue to provide updates as matters progress

Re: Northumberland Development Project - CPO Now Granted!!!

Oh **** off Archway, I did feel sorry for them a while back, but this now takes the ****.

Re: Northumberland Development Project - CPO Now Granted!!!

Will things happen quicker if they have a fire? ;-)

Where's the riots when we need them!

Re: Northumberland Development Project - CPO Now Granted!!!

Seven years! Wow.

Wonder were we will be moving for the one season. Wembley? Will be strange to see us play away from home every week.

why are we ****ing around, why doesn't levy just send the boys round with baseball bats and torch the place ?

Re: Northumberland Development Project - Archway Have Appealed

They obviously aren't doing this because they think they can win. It's just about ****ing off Spurs as much as possible. Wonder who's paying for it?

Re: Northumberland Development Project - Archway Have Appealed

Levy needs to set up a company next door to it and undercut them by 30% on everything.. and offer better deals by poaching the supposed 30 staff that works there.

Or say **** this.. move away from the current site and build the biggest rubbish dump there is.. akin to what was on the news recently in Bromely/Orpington.. the smell LOL

Levy should go there in person and "make them an offer they can't refuse"
