Set-Piece - Shooting Specialist

Has to be one of the biggest cliches in football 'Kaboul can really strike the ball with power you know', proceeding him blasting it either directly into the wall or 10 yards high and wide of the goal. Not sure why we opt for 'power' just outside the box when Everton have about 9 men in the wall.

Only one that actually springs to mind was when we played Portsmouth a few years back and Kaboul took a free kick AGAINST us, it took a deflection and forced Gomes into one hell of a save!

I cant see why though, apparently we have one of the best young wingers in the world playing for us who supplies endless defense splitting crosses for our strikers to nod in. I can only think OptaJoe has got his stats wrong....

You're probably not even wrong, with Walker providing a lot of width down that right, Bentley would be decent infront of him to be honest. It keeps Bale on the left too. think he's injured anyway

Unfortunately Adebayor is about as good at heading the ball as Crouch. Plus as most of our corners are aimlessly drifted into the box our CBs struggle to get those on target too.

We should give it a try when he comes back from injury, if Lennon's out. Give him one last chance to redeem himself. In previous seasons, maybe the similarly slow Charlie was holding him back. Now, with an ultra-fast RB, maybe he'll be a bit better.
 
His free kicks are bad. But worse are Modric corners because it happens ten times more often.

Maybe modric could hit free kicks and kaboul's corner would beat the first man?!:)

If Kaboul could blast some corners in they surely couldn't be worse than Luka' floaters which have so little pace that even if they reach one of our players there's no way they can beat the goalie.
 
I will kill a tiny kitten every time Kaboul takes a free kick. If someone informs him do you reckon it will make him stop?
 
Kaboul must have pictures of Redknapp at some nazi sex orgy party, that's the only reason I can think of as to why he's allowed to keep taking free kicks.
 
I think our lack of any sort of cohesion at set-pieces was illustrated perfectly yesterday. At the end of the game we get a corner and Friedel comes up for it. What do we do? Play a short corner.
 
Other than the Modric corner at the end thought we did a lot better with set-pieces.
