Set-Piece - Shooting Specialist

Should sell him to Dallas Cowboys, bet they'd pay well for a kicker of his quality. HIGH AND FAR!

I cant agree more. My worst fears are actually he gets one in and blasts the next fifty miles wide as "he can strike a ball" gets rolled out by the commentator....

When was the last time he scored a goal from a free kick?

Personally I blame Harry. He should have no more than 2 right footers and 2 left footers on set pieces, and they should have to stay behind in training and practice just as Beckham and all the other great set piece experts do. Neither Kaboul nor Defoe take free kicks as if they practice, it seems they just hit and hope.

He never even gets close!

Again I agree totally, Christ even if he hit one in earlier in the season I would have let another one or two but whenever we get a free at the edge of the box or even a corner I dont consider it a chance anymore. Even Stoke cheer a bloody throw in...

I honestly flipped when I saw him lining up to take it. Not saying Modric or Benny would've done any better, well actually I think they would've but probably wouldn't have scored. But we all knew Kaboul was just going to wang it high and wide or into the wall, every fudging time.

It's always the same. A player goes down, his face a grimace of pain, flattened by an opposing clogger. The referee blows. Free-kick, just outside the area. You clench your jaw. You know that Tottenham have been miserable at set-pieces for a while. You know that they barely ever practice. You don't have your hopes up. But still...you look at the determination on the players' faces; they want this. They need this. You remember the magic in those boots, the technical brilliance in open play. These guys are magicians on the ball, artists. Luka Modric, Rafael Van Der Vaart, Gareth Bale...how could they not bend the ball into the back of the net? Your expectations rise, you stand up, roaring the lads on, waiting for that inevitable ripple as the ball hits the back of the net, the hum of 'Oh When the Spurs' sending the hairs on the back of your neck tingling with awe.

And then Kaboul blasts it twenty kilometres over the bar and you commit an angry bukkake to your screen.

The free kick position today was perfect for Modric,he should have just told Kaboul to fudge off.Oh and somebody mentioned he cant remember when Kaboul scored a FK,I cant remember when he actually hit the target and forced a goalkeeper save.

Its incredible that we score so few and when we dont get many headed goals either you wonder how we even got to 3rd.

Teams have obviously done their homework and decided the best way to beat us is to foul us and stop any attempts at goal from open play. Only Adebayor is good at penalties so fouling our players inside the box is probably a wise move also.

How does a player get it 20 feet above a goal from 22 yards out? A professional player at that? I mean I aint a professional but I would get that on target

One of the things that annoys me, others include:

- Playing Bale on the right when he should be on the left as he is a left winger.
- Kaboul taking free kicks when we have better options.
- Modric continuing take corners when he can't beat first man.
- Walker allowing the ball to run out of play when it's not that close to the line.
- Playing Modric wide. (dont have a problem if we have hudd in the middle with Lennon on the right)

probably many more but I can't think

Skysports understands that Spurs defender Younes Kaboul has been charged by the FA for bringing the game in to disrepute.
He faces a ban for impersonating a footballer with the ability to score from set pieces.
