Saudi Sportswashing Machine

Was just about to write similar. Surely 1 of the games you get suspended for should be the next game in that competition (if the team is still in it).
The only hope I have is they miss put on CL die to his absence in the 3rd prem game and still lose the final!

Because it's red it counts in all comps. So it'll be the number of games he's banned for in whatever games come next.

To be fair it's used to be that way, but was changed because it often meant the player would just miss an early or easy round,so was less of a punishment and impact, especially at a time when early rounds were used to use the squad players.

I doubt it, saudi has never been sanctioned by the uk government.

They have because there are two sperate bodies

UK's Global Human Rights Sanctions Regulation sanctioned Saudi individuals on the murder of Jamal Khashoggi, so they can take their advise into consideration, there was also government officials sanctioned as part of their clean up in 2020 for various human right abuses, I am sure that dim views will be taken on governments who harbour such abuses taken over clubs, thats what its there for. I doubt people at the top will have to be personally named for governments to be considered complicit in those violations

Anyway be interesting moving forward regardless, seems the games being cleaned up which has been a long time coming

Anthony Gordon banished to the academy to train until the end of the season for disciplinary reasons. Great work, only been there 5 minutes!

Just goes to show about the lottery of players, a club most drool over making a signing most had a pop at us about and then it turns out to be sour. The part of football many don't acknowledge when having a pop at our club

In other news the Forrest sporting director has gone today after only 6 months, signed 22 players and then they realised he was mental, just goes to show

The Ndombele effect. Has only played a limited amount of top flight games, got a big move at a young age. The are enough red flags there or potential downsides to mean you would not spend more then 10m and 20 grand a week on him.

Done nothing in the game yet, hope our scouting is much more aware of these potential pitfalls now.
