Roberto Soldado

Anyone feel bad for that Jim White ... they way we are trying to go about our business he will be out of a job for transfer deadline day ... he must be pacing up and down his front room foaming at the mouth wanting to report this news on deadline day ... May work himself into some heat stroke or something.

#Soldado Baldini is in Valencia. Meeting club now. Spurs and Liverpool have offered. Valencia want €30m, which is the clause. Doubt will get

The boy likes a volley!

Also, which also impresses me, he is nerveless at converting pens. I always think that's a 'relatively' good indication of temperament for the big occasion.

All we need now is to be actually given some bloody penalties!

Don't feel bad, they're still going to break the news that we've had a bid for Damiao accepted only to confirm 5 past 12 that the deal fell through...

Copied from SC:

"Ok, so they are at the Hilton with Baldini, negotiating since 8pm (7 gmt), and Valencia are happy to let him go for 30m.

The deal they will accept is 15m now, as long as the other 15m is paid within 2 years.

Valencia are also keen to get someone to replace him who can score 30 goals a season.

Edited to add - this is according to Cadena SER radio station's update."

a club of our stature can afford a one off window where we splash the cash (50m bracket) we've done it in the past a couple of times when we were 'smaller' than we currently are. spread the payments out over 5 years and your looking at what, 12-15m a year with interest? easily managable as long as we don't carry on the big spending year in year out. basically i think the notion we are reliant upon a sell Bale insurance policy is a non goer as we can service that kind of spending within our means

Wait wait wait. Wasn't it you and Brainclipse that kept saying we couldn't do this and there's no way we would be able to spend the money i thought (30m plus net). I'm sure you and him predicted 20m and said i was being unrealistic? now we're able top spend 50m net?

They've only just put his tie in the museum. If they take his transfers too he'll top himself.

#Soldado Interviewed the player a year ago when he confirmed to me that Spurs offered for him and he was interested. Fact they are back in

plus the fact that Baldini has gone over there must give them a slight edge over Liverpool you´d say.

Spurs fan too.

seems like Levy to pay £15m up front and then just sell him before we have to pay the rest
